Forza Horizon 6: How To Repair Cars

Forza Horizon 6 lets you tailor your driving experience with a lot of different settings. You can adjust how realistic the game feels, especially with the car damage option. Turn damage on for a challenging experience where crashes matter, or turn it off for a more relaxed drive around Japan. If you choose to play with damage enabled, you’ll also need to occasionally repair your car.

Okay, so fixing up your car in Forza Horizon 6 is actually pretty easy. There are a bunch of ways to do it quickly. Just be aware that when you repair, it completely resets your car – it goes back to looking brand new and drives like it just rolled off the assembly line. That means all the cool wear and tear you’ve earned while driving will be gone! But if you want that fresh, clean look, here’s how to do it in Forza Horizon 6.

How To Repair Cars In Forza Horizon 6

When fixing your car in Forza Horizon 6, remember you can only do it while driving around the open world, not during races. If you take damage in a race, you can use the Rewind feature to go back in time a bit and avoid crashes. Keep in mind there’s a limit to how far back you can rewind, so it’s best to use it quickly if your car is getting badly damaged.

In Forza Horizon 6, you have four primary options for fixing your car while driving around the open world. Here’s a look at each method.

  • Fast Travel – Any time you fast-travel on the map, you’ll reset your car’s wear and tear. Simply open the map and click on any road you’ve driven before to fast travel there for a quick fix.
  • Start A Race – Starting a race will also reset your car’s damage. After all, it wouldn’t be fair to make you race with a beat-up car.
  • Go Home – If you use the in-game menu to return to your house, you’ll find that you arrive with a pristine car. Home is where the heart is.
  • Use Photo Mode – You can reset all cosmetic damage in Photo Mode. To use this option, press up on the D-Pad (or P on keyboard) to open Photo Mode, then press LB (or R on keyboard) to reset your damage accumulation.

Now that your car looks great, it’s a good idea to take some photos! In Forza Horizon 6, photos earn you points towards completing the game, so be sure to use Photo Mode. Don’t forget to photograph other cars as you explore to get the most out of the experience.

You can now play Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox Series X|S and PC. A version for PlayStation 5 is planned to come out in late 2026.
