As someone who has spent countless hours navigating the winding streets of Renaissance Italy and scaling towering castles in the name of justice, the announcement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows has filled me with an unparalleled sense of anticipation. The prospect of not only dispatching my foes with ruthless efficiency but also designing and customizing my very own headquarters is a dream come true for this seasoned assassin.
As a gamer, I’m psyched about Assassin’s Creed Shadows! It’s shaping up to be an action-packed game for those who love a good old-fashioned fight, with plenty of opportunities for both brutal blows and precise strikes against digital adversaries. But here’s what really gets me excited – it seems Ubisoft has thought about the architects among us too! This time around, we’ll get to build our very own headquarters within the game, customizing it to suit our playstyle and preferences. Can’t wait to see how this new feature shapes up!
From what I gathered from a now-removed video shared by IGN China (via Eurogamer), Ubisoft revealed that players will have a spacious one-acre plot to set up their base. The mode appears relatively straightforward, allowing for effortless placement and customization of buildings and paths for when our protagonists Yasuke and Naoe require a brief rest.
In many Assassin’s Creed games, players have access to recurring hideouts for exploration. The most recent game in the main series, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, includes a base called Ravensthorpe situated in England. Players can improve their home base by investing in it, thereby enhancing its structures and gaining access to superior equipment from the merchants within.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to release on November 15 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, marking four years since Valhalla debuted alongside the introduction of the latest generation of PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that several revamps of Assassin’s Creed games are underway, and there are whispers about one of the offshoots, Assassin’s Creed Invictus, being a multiplayer-centric title. This game is said to draw inspiration from Fall Guys in its design.
