Space Marine 2 devs “hopeful” PS5 Pro will surpass Quality Mode with higher performance

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen countless console upgrades and their impact on game performance. The anticipation for the PS5 Pro is palpable, and the potential improvements it may bring to games like Space Marine 2 has me positively buzzing.

Ever since the announcement of the PS5 Pro, I’ve been on the edge of my seat, anticipating the performance enhancements and graphical overhaul that its numerous hardware upgrades promise. Not only that, but a multitude of games were teased with potential improvements – and it appears another game is joining that list!

In a conversation with IGN, Saber Interactive’s Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits discussed his ambition for Space Marine 2 to flourish on the PS5 Pro, leveraging its touted AI upscaling feature (commonly referred to as PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), which is part of the system’s upgrade.

In a conversation with IGN, Willits expressed: “Ideally, with the PS5 Pro, using AI upscaling, players might experience Space Marine 2 in Performance Mode, and potentially, it could appear more visually appealing than it currently does in Quality Mode.

It’s speculated, though neither Sony nor Saber Interactive have officially confirmed it, that Space Marine 2 may significantly improve thanks to AI upscaling technology. This could lead to enhancements not only in its performance but also in its visual aesthetics as well.

At the moment, both Xbox and PlayStation users have the option to select between two performance settings in their console versions: Quality Mode, which boosts the resolution while lowering the frame rate to 30 frames per second, and Performance Mode, which decreases the graphics slightly but guarantees a smooth 60 frames per second gameplay experience.

As an avid gamer, I’m eagerly anticipating that the PS5 Pro strikes the ideal equilibrium. This means I can immerse myself in combat against the Tyranids at a smooth 60fps, all while ensuring the game surpasses its current Quality Mode visuals.

Earlier, PlayStation 5 gamers expressed dissatisfaction about the game’s performance, complaining of decreased frame rates, crashes, and occasional lags. Although these issues should be addressed in future updates, it’s evident that PS5 Pro buyers will have an additional game they can play with superior quality.
