Level-5 pushes DecaPolice into 2026, commits to PC release and simultaneous anime adaptation

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must admit, my anticipation for Level-5’s DecaPolice has been building like a tsunami waiting to crash on the shore. The game, initially slated for 2024, has now moved its release window to 2026. Now, while it might seem like an eternity in gamer years, I’ve learned to be patient and let my excitement simmer like a slow-cooked ramen bowl.

Level-5’s crime-mystery RPG game, DecaPolice, is still under development. Originally slated for release in 2024, it has now been delayed with an anticipated launch in 2026. This delay includes releases on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and for the first time, PC via Steam. Previous announcements about DecaPolice didn’t specify whether a PC release was planned or not.

As per Akihiro Hino, host of Level-5 Vision 2024 broadcast by Level-5, the development team is refining and enhancing various aspects of the game, including its open-world design, visuals, and systems for a more immersive experience. Due to these improvements, they require additional time to complete the project. Additionally, Hino mentioned that an anime series titled DecaPolice will be released concurrently with the game. To pique players’ interest, Level-5 revealed the game’s theme song, “City of Love,” sung by MARiA from the rock duo GARNiDELiA.

At the 2023 Tokyo Game Show, James had the opportunity to attend a demonstration of a game called DecaPolice. During this event, DecaPolice was one of the games he was considering as his top pick. The demo showcased a fully-fledged RPG with a primary focus on police investigations and an exceptional combat system that revolved around immobilizing and apprehending adversaries.

DecaPolice launches in 2026 on PC, Switch, PS4, and PS5.
