How to unlock Warden in Remnant 2 Dark Horizon

As a seasoned Remnant 2 gamer with countless hours under my belt, I must say that the latest Dark Horizon DLC has truly outdone itself. The Warden Archetype is not just a new addition to the roster, but a breath of fresh air that brings an entirely different gameplay experience.

In the expansion pack Dark Horizon, you’ll encounter an entirely fresh character type known as the Warden. To get this new character, search for the engram scattered throughout the game world and then deliver it to Wallace.

To unlock the Warden, you will need to get the Command Module in the Overworld of N’Erud. Once you reach the second major open world section of the map of N’Erud and unlock the Withered Necropolis fast travel spot, find the Custodian (the green marker on the map below). There will be a mechanism on the edge of the cliff sort of nearby (the blue marker on the map below); once you get close enough to it, a glider will pop out and allow you to glide your way down the cliff.

Leap from the cliffside, wrap around the large column on your right side; seek out wind supports to boost you skyward multiple times. A brightly lit zone awaits you above for flight entry. You’ll need to ascend using an air current in this space. Eliminate any enemies that appear, then proceed through the left-side entrance and discover the long bridge. An elite adversary will be encountered halfway along the bridge. At the bridge’s end, find the Withered Mechanism; secure it and return it to Wallace. There is also a checkpoint nearby that you can drop down to.

Wallace, also known as Wally, can usually be spotted in Ward 13. Keep an eye out for him at the docks, specifically in a small house situated atop some stairs. Much like he has done with other Archetypes, he will create the one-of-a-kind equipable item essential to unlocking the Warden. To acquire this item, you’ll need to provide him with a module and five Lumenite Crystals. Once obtained, you can transform into a Warden.

What does the Warden start with in Remnant 2?

After activating the Warden, you’ll get a chance to create a fresh character with the Warden class. This newcomer will don the Nanoplated armor right off the bat, which is both visually appealing and provides decent resistance against Bleed, Blight, and Fire. Additionally, this armor set is remarkably lightweight. As an added bonus, the Warden comes equipped with a drone that highlights enemy positions on your mini-map when it’s operational.

To begin with, the initial firearm you’ll find is referred to as the Plasma Cutter, and it boasts a distinct weapon feature known as Heat Sink. This mode enhances the maximum damage your weapon can inflict while reducing the rate at which it overheats. However, I found that even when Heat Sink was deactivated, my weapon didn’t seem to overheat (this could be a glitch in the system). It functions as an energy-driven cutting device, consistently dishing out damage.

This handgun discharges a flow of nanomachines that either revitalizes friendly drones, turrets, or restores your teammates’ health when fired at them. It also has an overheating feature. Notably, this gun doesn’t come with a pre-installed unique modification; instead, you can customize it with the mods of your choice from the start. This double-mod setup provides a powerful kickoff for a new gaming session.

In addition to the Warden’s duties, they are equipped with an impressive melee weapon known as the Harvester Scythe. This weapon has swift strikes, but its powerful charged attack unleashes a ghostly blade that substantially increases your melee attack speed. By linking consecutive charged attacks, you can accumulate multiple instances of this speed enhancement.
