Oreo and the K-pop group BTS are collaborating on a special edition cookie. It’s inspired by a beloved street food snack from South Korea.
This collaboration comes as BTS returns to music after a break for required military service. Oreo hopes to benefit from the increasing worldwide interest in Korean pop music and culture.
Okay, I’m SO excited about these new BTS Oreos! They’re coming out June 1st, and the creme filling is supposed to taste like hotteok – that delicious Korean pancake with brown sugar inside that BTS apparently loved growing up. And get this – the cookies themselves are purple, which is the color for BTS and all of us in the ARMY. It’s such a cool nod to the group!
These special cookies come with 13 unique embossed designs. One design features the names of all seven BTS members – RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. Other designs include the BTS light stick, and a secret message for fans that’s spread across three cookies.
Oreo’s BTS collab launches in more than 80 countries
Oreo’s marketing VP, Matt Foley, says this partnership is a global event, rolling out the cookies in over 80 countries around the world – it’s not just a US promotion.
This collaboration with BTS is one of Oreo’s most significant celebrity partnerships to date, even bigger than their previous limited-edition flavors like the Selena Gomez horchata Oreos, which were released internationally.
This collaboration happens at a key time for BTS. Although they’re still a leading K-pop group, the music scene has become more competitive during their break, with artists like BLACKPINK, Stray Kids, ATEEZ, and TWICE continuing to gain fans around the world.

To stay popular with shoppers despite rising prices and slower spending, Oreo’s maker, Mondelez International, has been frequently releasing special, limited-edition Oreo flavors and partnerships.
The new Oreo collaboration with BTS continues a trend of the brand partnering with popular celebrities. Recently, Oreo released limited-edition cookies with Post Malone in 2025, which included a unique swirled creme filling based on his favorite tastes.
