Hooded Horse will publish the space action RPG, C-Beams, which is coming to PC in early access.

Hooded Horse is thrilled to announce the addition of C-Beams, a new space action RPG from Distant Light Games, to its lineup of top-tier strategy and tactical games! In C-Beams, you’ll captain a spaceship through a dangerous black hole system, seeking wealth and renown. You’ll also participate in intense spaceship battles, transport valuable resources, and discover hidden, unsettling truths within the darkness of space.

Imagine a future where humans are exploring the galaxy, and the discovery of a strange new star system triggers a chaotic rush for wealth. Corporations, governments, and daring pilots all compete to get rich, despite dangerous obstacles and fierce rivals. You play as a new pilot with everything to prove, and you’ll have to make your mark on this harsh and unforgiving frontier.

Key features of C-Beams include

  • Pilot one of several upgradable ship types with realistic handling and Newtonian physics controls.
  • Explore a vast system filled with asteroid fields, space stations, planets, and more through a network of interconnected jump points.
  • Engage in chaotic ship-to-ship combat. Make use of environmental cover and weapons ranging from short-range Gatling turrets to long-range guided missiles and the titular C-Beam lasers.
  • The game offers multiple ways to specialize, whether that be in mining, hauling, trading, or combat.
  • Develop skills, tackle missions, and earn a reputation with the various factions vying for dominance within the system.

C-Beams, a new project revealed in 2024, has quickly gained popularity with over 100,000 wishlists. It was created by two friends who originally connected at a LEGO club, and one of them, Charlie Goldberg, is well-known for his YouTube channel, LevelCapGaming.

Goldberg explains that Hooded Horse has created a supportive and trusting environment, filled with people who are truly enthusiastic about game development. Beyond just a business partnership, it feels like they’ve connected with a team genuinely dedicated to helping them create a fantastic game, and the overall atmosphere has been excellent.

According to Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender, C-Beams is a fantastic game that blends exciting action with realistic science fiction and stunning ship designs. He admits he’s usually not good at games that require precise timing, but he’s completely captivated by C-Beams, calling it ‘so damn good’.

C-Beams will be translated into fifteen different languages: German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.

C-Beams will release into early access for PC, and is coming to Steam and the Epic Games Store.
