YouTuber risks life to win viral cheese rolling race for third year in a row

Tom Kopke, a German YouTuber who goes by Tooleko, has won the annual cheese rolling race for the third year in a row, continuing to bravely compete despite the dangers involved.

While many extreme sports exist globally, the annual cheese rolling race in Brockworth, England, is one of the most well-known and attracts a lot of attention.

The tradition began in 1826 with a simple, and rather daring, race: people chasing a cheese wheel down a steep hill. Whoever reaches the bottom first wins the cheese! Over time, the event has grown in popularity, attracting participants from around the globe.

I’ve been following this event for a while now, and one player who always stands out is Tom Kopke – he runs the Tooleko YouTube channel. He’s been participating every year for the last few years, but honestly, he’s been crushing it and winning consistently for the past three years. He’s definitely the one to watch!

Tom Kopke wins cheese rolling race again

I was so thrilled to watch Kopke win the downhill race again in 2026! It was amazing – he actually pulled off a three-peat, winning for the third time in a row. What a champion!

After his victory, Kopke jokingly declared, “If this hill is hell, I’m the devil!” He emphasized that the race is open to anyone and that success comes down to giving your all. Notably, he beat Chris Anderson, a Guinness World Record holder who had won various versions of the race an impressive 23 times between 2005 and 2022.

Kopke said it was his best year yet, and he focused on finishing strong. He managed to regain his footing midway through the course and then pushed hard to the finish line, according to BBC News.

The yearly race continues to draw many participants from outside the usual group. This year, popular streamer IShowSpeed joined the 2024 race, though he ultimately finished fourth.

Kopke is expected to compete again next year, but it’s uncertain whether he can achieve the rare feat of winning four consecutive races.
