Hololive Officially Says Goodbye to 6 Talents Following Financial Shut Down With Final June 2026 Stream

After a recent and debated financial decision, Hololive is letting several of its streamers go, starting in June.

On May 26, 2026, Hololive announced that six members of Holostars Japan will be leaving the group. This follows a recent decision in April that significantly reduced the financial benefits for male talents, leaving them with far less support than their more established female colleagues in both Japan and English-speaking branches.

Only six of the twelve Holostars JP anime-boy streamers will continue with the company. The other six are graduating, with their final streams taking place between June 8th and July 5th, 2026.

Hololive Farewells 6 Talents Following Controversial Defunding of VTuber Group

hololive and Holostars expressed their gratitude to fans for their ongoing support in a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

After we announced changes to how Holostars JP would operate on April 3rd, we spoke with each member individually to discuss their future plans and what they hope to achieve.

Following discussions with the performers, Hololive has announced that these Holostars members will be graduating this summer:

Kanade Izuru, Astel Leda, Yukoku Roberu, Yatogami Fuma, Utsugi Uyu, and Aragami Oga are still actively streaming as VTubers with Holostars, a part of Hololive.

While the financial changes impacting the original Holostars group in Japan don’t affect the English-speaking branch, Holostars EN has faced challenges. They haven’t had the same opportunities for growth as the female Holostars, with fewer big sponsorships and live events.

Hololive reducing support for its male streamers and stopping applications for new male talents is a worrying sign for the future of the organization.

Many popular female streamers on Hololive, including Murasaki Shion, have voiced their disappointment with the company’s recent choices and how it’s handling its talent, even though there’s potential for significant brand growth.

Mori Calliope, a popular streamer, recently took a break from streaming in early May because she was unhappy with how her company was being run. She returned on May 11th and explained that she had intentionally stopped streaming to try and get the company’s attention and address her concerns, which had previously been ignored.

Mori stated she isn’t planning to leave Hololive, but warned she’ll protest again if the company doesn’t address her concerns. She also hinted that many other talents share her dissatisfaction with how things are going.

Hololive’s recent woes come as the company officially ended its , in mid-May.

This virtual reality experience, created with a specific aesthetic in mind, aimed to achieve something ambitious. However, it now seems to be another sign of difficulties for the company that’s a major player in the VTuber world.
