Insanely Rare Umbreon Pokemon TCG card allegedly stolen

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but shake my head at yet another incident of theft within our community. I’ve seen it all – from broad daylight robberies to million-dollar heists, and now, even rare Pokémon cards being targeted. It seems like our beloved hobby is becoming a hotbed for criminal activities!

A highly unusual Umbreon trading card from the TCG, valued at more than a thousand dollars, is reportedly stolen following an unfortunate event.

Though Pokemon captivates people across various age groups, it’s well-known that the franchise has been associated with criminal activities, ranging from broad daylight robberies to audacious heists like the theft of a half-million dollar Pokemon card collection from a 62-year-old.

Currently, a Reddit user has shared a story about losing an Umbreon VMAX Alt Art card from the Evolving Skies set. Sadly, it appears this valuable trading card has been taken away.

Showcasing a colossal Umbreon attempting to grasp the moon, this scarcely found card is speculated to be valued at approximately $1,200, as per Price Charting’s estimation.

This card with this certification number was stolen from my local LGS yesterday. We’re looking for some info on it.

The commenter mentioned that the card was taken while the store owner was retrieving items from a recent grading submittal.

Despite verifying that surveillance cameras were installed within the store, unfortunately, the memory had been filled up several days prior to the event, and the proprietor hadn’t had an opportunity to reinitialize them as of yet.

This business is run by just one person, but two of his friends drop by on different days each week,” they clarified. As for the missing credit card, they noted that many individuals are currently searching for it both in the local area and online.

Although it’s not my shop, the owner is making an effort to promote it. I, along with many others, hold this Local Game Store in high regard because it’s truly the only one within a two-hour radius that genuinely cares about the Pokemon community. Other nearby stores lack single cards or have failed to organize events.

It’s not the first instance of such an incident occurring in the neighborhood of Myrtle Beach, as stated by the OP. In fact, a similar crime took place at another local gaming store within the same state, where a whole binder was stolen. However, the perpetrator was eventually located and apprehended.

In the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) community, it’s not uncommon for such unique and highly prized cards to change hands.
