LoL devs finally brings meme skin to life by making K/DA Gragas a real thing

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of League of Legends under my belt, I can’t help but feel nostalgic and exhilarated at the same time. The announcement of K/DA Gragas has sent shockwaves through the gaming community, and I must admit, it’s about time!

Riot Games has confirmed that they’re making the long-awaited meme champion skin for League of Legends, K/DA Gragas, a reality following years of playful fan speculation.

Among the well-loved skin collections introduced in League of Legends, none gained as much attention as that belonging to the virtual pop group K/DA. This girl band is made up of champions such as Kai’sa, Akali, Evelynn, Ahri, and most recently Seraphine. In real life, they are portrayed as music industry powerhouses.

The debut of the character’s first skin, along with its accompanying “Popstars” music video, was incredibly successful in boosting the popularity of the game. This success led to the creation of additional virtual bands such as True Damage and Heartsteel, each offering unique songs and associated skins.

Players, inspired by the massive success of K/DA skins, have begun creating alternative skins for other champions. Enthusiasts are particularly eager to see champions like Braum, Gragas, and Taric dressed in stylish yet revealing outfits, preparing to step onto the stage for their first public appearance.

It’s good news that we won’t have to hold on for long, as Riot is at last delivering what gamers have been asking for.

The September 23rd developer update for League of Legends highlighted a number of fresh skins that will be up for grabs during the LoL Player Days event. Notably, several of these new cosmetics emphasized the fan aspect of the MOBA, with Cosplayer Neeko and Esports Trundle among them. However, it was Music Fan Gragas who truly stole the limelight.

Dressed in the complete K/DA outfit, with a satisfyingly round stomach peeking out, this mischief-maker looks absolutely stunning. The icing on the cake is that when he recalls, it’s none other than Gragas performing the Popstars dance – something fans have longed for and finally got to see.

It’s not clear what the developers have said about the price of these skins, but it seems reasonable to expect that they might cost 1350 RP. These new skins will offer improved visuals and sounds to enhance their overall quality.

If you buy any of these three skins from October 8 to October 24, the earnings will be donated to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund. Moreover, the developers have hinted that they’ll triple the contribution, making it a very worthwhile cause and potentially gifting you one of the most memorable League skin releases in recent years.
