As a seasoned gamer with over three decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that The Terminator has been an unforgettable part of my cinematic journey. The original 1984 film remains a timeless classic, and its upcoming 4K Blu-ray release is a testament to its enduring appeal.
Four decades have passed since The Terminator showcased the chilling concept of a menacing robotic antagonist with an Austrian tone, leaving a lasting impact on audiences worldwide. Despite the passage of time, the original film remains as gripping and captivating as ever, ready to enthrall viewers once more with the upcoming release of its 4K Blu-ray edition slated for November 19.
The Terminator: Steelbook Edition
There’s another Terminator Blu-ray release coming out in 4K, but there’s also a limited edition Steelbook version that showcases stunning artwork of the T-80. Unfortunately, it’s currently sold out on Amazon and Walmart, but if you’re into steelbook Blu-rays, it might be worth checking back later when they restock. The special features and various formats on this one are identical to the upcoming standard 4K edition.
- Amazon — $35 (sold out)
- Walmart — $35 (sold out)
More Terminator Blu-rays
Starting from 1984, the Terminator series has grown significantly with sequels and spin-offs. While some might argue that its zenith was reached with Terminator 2: Judgment Day, other films in the series still hold an appeal despite not meeting the high standards set by the initial sequel. For instance, there’s a short-lived TV show titled The Sarah Connor Chronicles, starring Lena Headey, all episodes of which can be found in a single Blu-ray box set if you wish to revisit it. Moreover, Terminator enthusiasts might also enjoy many other movies featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, such as Predator, True Lies, and the second-best Christmas movie ever made, Jingle all the Way.
