MW3 players are getting free codes for Season 6 Battle Pass but there’s a catch

As a long-time Call of Duty enthusiast who’s spent countless hours mastering the maps and strategies of Modern Warfare 3 (MW3), I must admit, I was taken aback when I received an unexpected email offering a free Battle Pass for the game’s final season. It had been a while since I last logged in, so I found myself scratching my head in confusion.

On September 18, a sledgehammer unveiled the last round of content for Modern Warfare 3, and some enthusiastic Call of Duty gamers have been fortunate enough to receive complimentary codes for the Season 6 Battle Pass.

In a spooky twist, this upcoming season takes on a Halloween motif, introducing a thrilling Haunt event to Modern Warfare 3, in addition to significant adjustments to the Vaznev-9K, Static-HV, and STG44 weapons.

The content package is the final one scheduled prior to the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which will then become the current series title.

Some gamers claim that Sledgehammer is distributing gratis codes for the last Battle Pass of the game, and an interesting fact is that these players haven’t played the FPS for quite some time.

In a Reddit post telling players to check their emails, an MW3 player explained how he received a free code after not playing the game for an extended period.

Indeed, I took a break during seasons 4 and 5, but it looks like I’m getting another chance to play now. To be honest, I always enjoy freebies. Don’t forget to check your emails,” the player mentioned.

Players reacted to the post, commenting that Activision or Sledgehammer are attempting to increase user engagement by enticing those who haven’t played for a while to return with free updates.

In other words, it’s common for online multiplayer games to distribute free Battle Passes and cosmetic items via social media promotions or streamer giveaways. But when it comes to the Call of Duty series, they haven’t typically been known for offering much free content in their main games.

If you’re a player who stopped playing Modern Warfare 3 and moved on to Black Ops 6 beta, other FPS games or even took a long break, make sure to check the emails linked to your Call of Duty account. You might find that you’ve been granted a free Battle Pass!
