As a self-proclaimed “Central Perk connoisseur” and a devotee of all things ’90s sitcom, I must say that the announcement of “Fast Friends,” the upcoming game show based on the iconic series “Friends,” has me more excited than Ross could ever be about finding his long-lost dinosaur bones!

A “Friends” game show is coming to Max in honor of the sitcom’s 30th anniversary.

In a fun twist, the four-part competition show named “Fast Friends” will be shot within “The Friends Experience: The One,” located in New York City. This expansive, two-story venue encompasses approximately 17,000 square feet and includes 18 themed rooms filled with nostalgic elements, interactive experiences, and sets replicating the iconic TV show “Friends.

Experience a thrilling journey as you dash through the apartments of Rachel and Monica, zoom across Joey and Chandler’s bachelor pad, and stop for a coffee at Central Perk – all while immersing yourself in beloved moments from ‘Friends’. Test your knowledge with trivia, solve puzzles, and engage in games that will challenge even the most devoted fans. The team with the highest score will be celebrated as the ultimate ‘Friends’ enthusiasts.

The show will enter production in October. A release date has not yet been announced.

Beyond the city limits of New York, “The Friends Experience” has established a permanent base in London and is set to debut in the vibrant city of Las Vegas. This popular attraction has journeyed to 25 cities scattered across eight different nations so far, with additional locations planned for announcement.

Warner Bros. Unscripted Television, along with Warner Horizon, is behind the creation of a fresh, four-episode game show titled “Fast Friends.” The show’s executive producers are Dan Sacks, Bridgette Theriault, and Dan Norris, with Richard Burgio serving as co-executive producer.

The show is set to air on Max, where they’re marking the 30th anniversary of “Friends” by offering additional content, a custom TikTok filter, a refreshed design for the series’ collection page, specially curated episode playlists, and other exciting surprises within the app.

Originally aired on NBC on Sept. 22, 1994, the popular sitcom “Friends” featured Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. Set in New York City, where six friends navigated their 20s and early 30s, this iconic show rose to become one of the greatest television series ever made.
