Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Trailer Features Big Bang Theory Connection

The new season is just around the corner! CBS has released the initial trailer for the second season of the Young Sheldon spinoff, which continues the story.

The trailer for Season 2 continues the story after the first season’s finale, where Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Ruben (Jessie Prez) bought the tire shop from Jim McAllister (Will Sasso). It seems Georgie and Ruben will clash on a lot of decisions, starting with the shop’s new name – Ruben quickly dismissed Georgie’s idea of calling it “Dr. Tire.” Fans of The Big Bang Theory will remember that by 2018, that’s the name of Sheldon’s brother’s chain of tire shops, and Georgie is also known as “The Tire King of Texas.” Watch the new trailer for Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage below.

In an interview with TVLine, The Goldbergs co-creator Steve Holland discussed the difficulties Georgie and Ruben will encounter in Season 2, particularly regarding their pay. “Season 2 will focus on them learning to collaborate,” Holland explained. “Ruben has been at the school longer, so he believes he deserves more input and potentially a higher salary.”

Despite The Big Bang Theory confirming that Dr. Tire will ultimately happen, the co-creator wasn’t quite ready to reveal what Ruben’s role in its creation would be. “I don’t know. I mean, this is certainly the first step on the road to Dr. Tire. It’s possible that he and Ruben have a falling out. It’s also possible that Ruben is a silent partner and Georgie is the face of Dr. Tire,” Holland shared back in May. “We’ve talked about all those options. Hopefully, we have a long road ahead of us, so we’re taking it one small step at a time.”

Georgie & Mandy Continues to Expand the Big Bang Theory Universe

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is the newest show in The Big Bang Theory universe, following both the original series (2007-2019) and Young Sheldon (2017-2024). Picking up after the story of Young Sheldon, this sitcom centers on Georgie and Mandy (Emily Osment) as they build a family in Texas and deal with the ups and downs of marriage and raising children. Because Georgie & Mandy is closely linked to Young Sheldon – taking place in the same timeline – several actors from the previous show have returned, including Annie Potts as Meemaw, and Raegan Revord as Missy Cooper.

Georgie & Mandy will be followed by a fourth Big Bang series, titled Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, but this one will stream on HBO Max rather than CBS. The new show stars Kevin Sussman, Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus, and John Ross Bowie, all returning as their Big Bang Theory characters: Stuart Bloom, Bert Kibbler, Denise, and Barry Kripke. This spinoff is a departure from the franchise’s traditional sitcom format, diving into the concept of the multiverse as Stuart attempts to prevent a multiversal catastrophe. Filming began at the end of September.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage returns with its Season 2 premiere on CBS on Oct. 16.
