KSI’s fans turn against him after he fires back at DanTDM’s Lunchly criticism

As someone who’s been following these creators since the early days of YouTube, it’s disheartening to see this unfold. I understand DanTDM’s concerns about influencers selling products without clear benefits for their fans. It feels like we, the audience, are being taken for a ride.

KSI made a response video in response to the tweets of DanTDM and others who took issue with his Lunchly brand, a Lunchables competitor he’s working with Logan Paul and MrBeast on. His response didn’t go over well, even with his fans.

Among the growing fame of PRIME and Feastables, these three YouTubers have leveraged their influencer status to star in a marketing campaign for well-liked brands, which are now dominating supermarkets’ shelves. Yet, DanTDM expresses concern about this situation.

His initial criticism claimed that Lunchly doesn’t do anything for the fans of the YouTubers, with him calling out the three of them for using their fame to sell a product.

It seems that YouTubers have crossed a line by promoting products solely for financial gain, disregarding their fans’ trust and expectations. It’s like peddling junk to children who may not be aware of the ulterior motives behind these transactions. They should strive for higher standards.

He expressed, “I find myself compelled to speak up now. It seems they’re prioritizing profit over principles, plain and simple. One must wonder, what’s in it for their followers? It’s a matter of exploiting innocence by peddling subpar goods to children who are easily swayed by those peddling them. Let’s strive for something more commendable.

Other big YouTubers like JackSepticEye sided with Dan on the issue.

In reply, KSI posted several tweets and a 20-minute video discussing comments. However, despite KSI’s multiple efforts to “reflect” the situation back onto DanTDM (as he phrased it), his followers seem unconvinced by this argument.

He pointed out how several other YouTubers have used their platform to promote food, including DanTDM, but that he feels like he & his business partners are being targeted unfairly in comparison to other creators.

It seems that there isn’t much backlash against those individuals on Twitter, have you figured out why? Let me explain my thoughts. People simply don’t like us, they dislike us. This sentiment appears to extend to figures such as Logan Paul, MrBeast, and myself on the platform.

It was discovered that KSI also faced significant criticism on various other platforms. In a bid to highlight the memes being used against him, he shared several of them on Reddit, and responded to some of the trending ones in a follow-up video.

Furthermore, the comments on YouTube were predominantly unfavorable. While it’s feasible to determine an accurate dislike-to-like ratio for YouTube videos, the most prominent comments offer a more vivid depiction.

A person collaborates with the two most contentious individuals on YouTube at present, and this individual’s response was, ‘They seem to dislike us without cause.’

Regarding background information, Jake Paul has found himself involved in several disputes, one of which is an ongoing legal spat with Coffeezilla concerning CryptoZoo. Similarly, MrBeast has faced criticism from fans due to claims about his team and contestants being mishandled on set, allegations he has yet to address publicly.

Another YouTube user found it amusing that JJ was increasingly agitated as they watched the video,” commented someone else.

Others accused KSI of selectively choosing which tweet replies to respond to, focusing mainly on those with fewer likes, while seemingly ignoring the comments from his community posted on his articles.

A significant number of KSI’s long-term supporters and active Reddit community members share DanTDM’s criticisms, even though they still admire the creator themselves.
