Fans of the show Ghosts are eager to see what happens next in season 6. The year leading up to the new season was full of ups and downs for everyone at Woodstone Mansion – both the living and the ghosts who call it home. The season began with a surprising turn of events when Carol found herself in a difficult situation while trying to help Jay and Pete deal with Elias’s plans. Now, the entire group is looking ahead to what’s next.
A major focus of Ghosts season 5 was the constant trouble at Woodstone Mansion. Sam and Jay were always dealing with problems, whether it was a threat to their home and business, or something related to the ghosts themselves. What happened in the previous season will probably play a role in what happens next with the group.
Ghosts Season 6 Has Already Been Confirmed By CBS
It’s no surprise that the popular CBS comedy Ghosts will be back for a sixth season. What is unusual is how early the renewal came – CBS gave the show a multi-year order back in 2025, guaranteeing its return not just for the 2025-2026 season, but also for 2026-2027. This early vote of confidence from CBS speaks to the success of the series, created by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. It also gave the writers the freedom to end season 5 with a cliffhanger, knowing the show would be back to resolve it.
Ghosts Season 6 Is Delayed To 2027
As a longtime viewer, I’ve come to expect Ghosts kicking off CBS’s fall season every year since 2021. But things are shifting a bit for the 2026-2027 TV season. CBS has announced that season six of Ghosts won’t be back until 2027 – it’s being held for midseason. This is partly to make room for the premiere of the new series Eternally Yours from the creators of Ghosts. The good news is, we’re still getting some Ghosts soon! They’re planning special hour-long Halloween and Christmas episodes, and unlike some shows that get shortened when delayed, Ghosts will still get a full season order. So, while we have to wait a little longer, it’s not all bad news for fans!
What Ghosts Season 6’s Story Could Be
As a huge fan of Ghosts, I loved seeing some old favorites return in season 5, along with some fresh faces! It’s been amazing watching characters like Bela, Kyle, and Mark really develop over the past year, and I fully expect them to stick around – especially now that they’re in on Sam’s secret. But honestly, what everyone is dying to see is one of the main ghosts finally move on. That was the whole point when Sam and Jay first moved into Woodstone, and after five seasons, it feels like it’s about time! It would be such a powerful moment, and I’m really hoping the writers will go there.
It’s currently unclear if we’ll see another season of Ghosts. The show has been successful at building out its world with imaginative episodes, and its popular holiday specials – like the Christmas and Halloween ones – could be a great way to connect with the upcoming Eternally Yours this fall.
