Monopoly reveals Formula 1 special edition with real circuits & Grand Prix mode

Formula 1 just announced a Monopoly collab, and somehow it comes with its own Grand Prix mode.

For years, Formula 1 has been successfully attracting fans who don’t typically attend races, and they’ve become quite skilled at it. Beyond the popular Netflix series and recent movie, F1 has expanded into games and merchandise – now including a Monopoly edition. It seems the line between watching a race and actually ‘owning’ a piece of the F1 world, like the Bahrain circuit, is surprisingly thin.

Formula 1 Monopoly Edition explained

Formula 1 and Hasbro have teamed up to create a Monopoly edition based on the exciting world of F1 racing. Fans could pre-order the game starting May 20th, and it officially hits stores on July 15th.

Okay, so instead of getting $200 when you pass Go in this new Monopoly version, you actually pick an F1 team and get these cool helmet tokens. Then you race around a track trying to earn championship points – they’re calling it the Monopoly Grand Prix! Forget buying properties like Park Place and Boardwalk, because now you’re moving around actual F1 tracks. And the cards aren’t ‘Chance’ or ‘Community Chest’ anymore, they’re all about the teams and give you bonuses based on who you’re playing as. It’s a really fun twist!

According to Emily Prazer, F1’s Chief Commercial Officer, the new edition successfully conveys the thrilling and competitive nature of Formula 1 in an enjoyable and easy-to-understand manner. Billy Lagor, President of Toy and Games at Hasbro, added that it genuinely represents both the F1 and Hasbro universes.

This board game aims to appeal to both families and collectors, and it’s launching at a great time for Formula 1. F1 is becoming increasingly popular worldwide, with bigger audiences and exciting race events. This game is part of a series of partnerships the sport has made, capitalizing on its growing fanbase – especially in the US – which has turned F1 into a very recognizable and dependable brand for entertainment tie-ins.

2026 was a notable year for Hasbro, with both exciting releases and legal challenges. In April, they debuted a highly detailed, $600 Grogu animatronic figure. Earlier in the year, in January, the company was sued by shareholders who claimed Hasbro printed too many Magic: The Gathering cards to cover financial setbacks.
