Titans Are Getting A Big Boost In Destiny 2's Next Episode, Revenant

As a seasoned Titan player with countless hours spent shoulder-to-shoulder with my fellow Guardians, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the upcoming changes to our subclass in Destiny 2! The Titans have always been the beefy, meatheaded bruisers of the bunch, and now, it seems Bungie is finally letting us live up to our fantasy as frontline fighters.

As a Destiny 2 gamer, I’m super excited about the upcoming changes for Titans! It seems our beefy subclass is getting some serious ability buffs soon, bringing the gameplay experience closer to the epic fantasy we all love and making us more competitive in endgame activities.

In its weekly blog post titled “This Week in Destiny”, Bungie revealed adjustments they are making to Titans, Destiny 2’s tank-like and somewhat brute subclasses. These changes will be implemented in October, coinciding with the launch of the upcoming content episode, Revenant. The main goal is to make playing as a Titan, who typically embodies a frontline fighter that often resorts to punching enemies, more aligned with the fantasy of being a battle-hardened combatant.

Instead of directly increasing Titans’ martial strength, Bungie is modifying various aspects of the Titan build in unique ways. The adjustment that will be most noticeable to players involves changing the Titan barricade ability so it taunts enemies, causing them to focus their attacks on the barrier rather than teammates.

In a nutshell, Titan barricades serve as protective barriers on the battlefield. They come in two forms: large shields offering extensive protection or smaller pieces that provide cover for players to shoot from. At present, these barricades primarily function as a temporary hideout, granting players a brief respite before rejoining the fray. However, adversaries can still target players hiding behind the wall or those who are away from it. The strategic advantage lies in the fact that enemies often prioritize destroying the barricade first, thus enhancing its defensive utility by enabling Titans to divert some of the enemy fire towards the barricade, thereby shielding their teammates, even when those teammates aren’t actually behind it.

In the future, barricades will become sturdier, taking 50% less damage from common enemies, thus prolonging their lifespan generally during PvE engagements. Additionally, they’ll offer enhanced protection against explosive splash damage by boosting the protection level from 20% to 60%.

Bungie is also making some additional adjustments, enhancing various Titan abilities to effectively shatter Stasis crystals that inflict freezing damage on nearby adversaries, thereby improving the versatility of Titans without directly increasing their damage output. However, Titans will see an improvement in their damage potential, particularly in their punches. Given that Titans are typically characterized by their brute strength compared to other characters, their unpowered melee attacks are receiving a 5% boost against players and a substantial 20% enhancement against enemies in PvE combat scenarios.

The article further elaborated on numerous additional modifications Bungie is implementing alongside the Revenant update. This encompasses refinements to diverse “wandering” Super powers – abilities players employ for mobility such as the Hunter’s Golden Gun and Spectral Blades, or the Warlock’s Chaos Reach and Stormtrance. These Supers will experience enhancements in damage reduction when deployed in PvE, while several are also being subtly strengthened to improve their effectiveness against adversaries.
