As a longtime fan of the Cyberpunk universe, I can hardly contain my excitement for this upcoming collaboration between Netflix and CD Projekt RED! After immersing myself in Night City countless hours playing the games, I’ve grown fond of its gritty dystopian world and intricate lore.
Fans are gearing up for their next visit to the gritty urban landscape of Night City, this time via their smaller screens. In fact, thanks to Netflix’s latest partnership with game developer CD Projekt RED, we’ll be able to delve deeper into this notorious city.
During the last day of Netflix’s yearly fan festival event, Geeked Week, which recently wrapped up with a live event, came the announcement of a new partnership. Although speculation is still ongoing about its nature, there’s been much buzz online about potential details surrounding this upcoming collaboration.
During their Geeked Week celebrations, Netflix has announced a partnership with CD Projekt RED on a new project under the Netflix Animation label. A sneak peek into this project was unveiled during Geeked Week, accompanied by the message “‘Stay tuned,’ as we share that audiences will be returning to Night City, but the details of what lies ahead remain a mystery.

Although no specifics or confirmation about this upcoming anime project have been provided yet, it could be an extension of the Edgerunners series (possibly for additional spin-offs) or something entirely new. Last month, the Polish developer confirmed they are definitely working on extending the Cyberpunk universe into other media formats like film and TV, but details were vague until now, with Netflix announcing something.
After a Famitsu interview with CDPR’s Japan country manager, Satoru Honma, it was revealed that Edgerunners would not proceed beyond its initial season. However, they are looking to expand the Cyberpunk universe through similar animation projects. During an earnings call, CDPR co-CEO MichaĹ‚ Nowakowski hinted at more animation projects related to Cyberpunk, stating, “We are definitely planning to do more in this area, so I hope that’s a satisfactory response.
Based on the information given, it can be concluded that there is a strong possibility of seeing additional Cyberpunk content in the future, though specific details about the nature of this content or the potential involvement of Studio Trigger have yet to be revealed.
