Anna Torv and Michael Dorman-Starring ‘Territory’ Unveils Trailer Ahead of Netflix Premiere

As a cinephile who’s traversed the dusty plains of the American West through countless hours watching “Yellowstone,” I must say, the trailer for “Territory” has piqued my interest like a rusty branding iron on an unsuspecting cowhide. The Australian outback seems to be as ripe with drama and conflict as Montana’s vast expanse, and I can hardly wait to see how this Down Under take unfolds.

Netflix’s Australian counterpart to the show ‘Yellowstone’, titled ‘Territory’, has released a trailer before its online debut on October 24. Formerly known as ‘Desert King’, this series stars Anna Torv, who is recognized from ‘Mindhunter’ and ‘The Newsreader’, and Michael Dorman, known for his roles in ‘For All Mankind’ and ‘Patriot’.

The production of this show is credited to Timothy Lee, known for “Mystery Road” and “Bump,” and Ben Davies, recognized for “Bondi Rescue,” “The First Inventors,” and “Outback Ringer.” The main theme revolves around a heated dispute over territory.

“When it becomes unclear who will take over the biggest cattle station in the world, disagreements among the Lawson family members could lead to their powerful dynasty falling apart. Seeing an opportunity, influential groups such as rival cattle barons, desert criminals, Indigenous leaders, and wealthy mining tycoons are positioning themselves to seize control.

The extensive supporting cast include: Robert Taylor (“Longmire,” “The Newsreader”), Sam Corlett (“Vikings: Valhalla,” “The Dry”), Sara Wiseman (“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” “High Country”), Dan Wyllie (“Love My Way,” “The Veil”), Clarence Ryan (“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” “Mystery Road Origin”), Jay Ryan (“IT Chapter Two,” “Scrublands”), Philippa Northeast (“The Newsreader,” “Limbo”), Joe Klocek (“My Lady Jane,” “The Dry”), Kylah Day (“Scrublands,” “Itch”), Sam Delich (“Spiderhead,” “Last Days of Space Age”), Hamilton Morris (“Sweet Country”), Tuuli Narkle (“Mystery Road: Origin,” “NCIS: Sydney”), Tyler Spencer (“The New Boy”) and Jake Ryan (“The Great Gatsby,” “Life After Fighting”).

Under the guidance of director Greg McLean, known for “La Brea” and “Wolf Creek”, the show is a collaborative effort between Easy Tiger and Ronde. The creative minds behind it are Tim Lee, who has worked on “Mystery Road” and “Bump”, and Ben Davies. The executive producers include Ben Davies himself, Rob Gibson, and Ian Collie. Paul Ranford takes on the role of producer for this production.

The movie ‘Territory’ was shot in various parts of the Northern Territory and South Australia, backed by Screen Territory and the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC). Key filming spots include Tipperary Station and Kakadu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
