God Of War Ragnarok's Companions Are About To Be Way Less Annoying

As a seasoned gamer who has navigated through countless virtual worlds, I must say that Sony’s latest move with God of War Ragnarok is music to my ears. After years of battling mythical beasts and solving intricate puzzles, I can finally silence the overly chatty companions without muting them entirely! The option to reduce puzzle hints is a godsend for those who prefer the thrill of self-discovery over being guided every step of the way.

In the upcoming PC release of God of War Ragnarok, Sony has announced a feature that allows players to decrease the number of times they hear hints about puzzles from other characters.

As stated on the PlayStation Blog, you can now find an adjustable setting in the Gameplay Settings section. When activated, companions such as Atreus and Mimir will seldom offer puzzle solutions, which should reduce the frequency of dialogue that some players found disruptive. Despite the game’s puzzles not being overly complex, many players prefer to solve them independently.

The game is also getting cinematic audio descriptions, which plays audio descriptions of visual events during cutscenes. This helps provide additional context alongside the spoken dialogue in order to create a more detailed experience for players with low vision. The feature can be enabled under the audio accessibility menu.

Additionally, Sony has announced that they will be incorporating enhanced puzzle hints and audio descriptions into their console versions in the near future.

God of War Ragnarok launches for PC on September 19. In TopMob’s God of War Ragnarok review, we said, “Sony Santa Monica brings back what made the original God of War reboot great and delivers another fantastic story with exceptional writing.”
