All of Sukuna’s Forms, Ranked by Strength

Ryomen Sukuna is the most recognizable villain in the series, and he’s incredibly powerful due to his cursed energy and mastery of jujutsu. He’s the catalyst for the entire story, and throughout the series, he appears in various forms.

Sukuna tries out different bodies as he works to fully return to power, and some of these forms are significantly stronger than others. He’s already considered one of the most powerful sorcerers in anime, but certain forms elevate him to an even greater level.

Ryomen Sukuna Is at His Least Powerful When He Possesses Yuji Itadori

Ryomen Sukuna appears right at the beginning of Jujutsu Kaisen, and it’s frightening to realize that this is actually his weakest form throughout the entire series. Even possessing only a small fraction of his full power – just one-twentieth – he’s an incredibly dangerous enemy, strong enough to easily defeat powerful opponents.

If Yuji Itadori couldn’t control Sukuna’s power, the villain would have likely caused a lot of destruction in recent times. The Shibuya Incident clearly showed that Ryomen Sukuna remains an incredibly powerful character in JJK, even without using his full abilities like the Ten Shadows Technique or his four-armed form.

I’ve been watching this character, and his control over cursed energy is seriously top-tier. He’s got what I think is the most powerful Domain Expansion we’ve seen so far, and his healing ability is unbelievable – he can basically reverse the effects of curses. Plus, his Divine Flame attack is devastating; it can take someone out with a single hit. Considering how unique Yuji Itadori is, it’s likely Sukuna could have become even stronger if he’d fully taken over the body of the main character in Jujutsu Kaisen.

However, he never fully develops this ability before moving into Megumi Fushiguro’s body. As a result, when he inhabits Yuji Itadori, fans only witness the weakest version of Sukuna throughout the series.

Heian Sukuna Dominated an Entire Era of History

Ryomen Sukuna is a frightening character in Jujutsu Kaisen, but his power seems even greater when looking back at his original reign of terror during the Heian era. It makes you wonder just how overwhelmingly powerful he truly was back then.

While the Heian Era Sukuna isn’t a major character in JJK, he’s important as a comparison to his current self. Based on what’s been said in the story, it appears Ryomen Sukuna was actually stronger during the Heian Era than he is when possessing Yuji Itadori now.

Sukuna, with his four arms and an additional mouth, can cast spells and perform hand movements during battle without weakening his attacks, and still use all of his powerful abilities. However, in his original form from the Heian Era, he isn’t as versatile or powerful as he becomes later in the Jujutsu Kaisen story.

Despite everything, Sukuna remains incredibly powerful – strong enough to seriously challenge, and potentially even beat, characters like Satoru Gojo. This new form of Sukuna is also much more powerful than when he inhabited Yuji Itadori’s body.

Sukuna’s Possession of Megumi Fushiguro Changed Jujutsu Sorcery Forever

Ryomen Sukuna taking control of Megumi Fushiguro is a devastating development, deeply affecting both Megumi and Yuji. This possession dramatically increases Sukuna’s power, potentially making him capable of defeating any sorcerer ever known. He demonstrates this newfound strength almost immediately by challenging Satoru Gojo after escaping the Prison Realm.

Sukuna, wielding the Ten Shadows Technique, is considered the most powerful shikigami user ever. He’s added the highly sought-after technique of the Zenin Clan to his abilities. By utilizing Agito and Mahoraga, Sukuna can essentially fight with the combined power of three Special Grade-level threats, and Mahoraga’s unique ability to adapt to anything his opponents throw at him makes him an incredibly dangerous asset.

Sukuna defeated Satoru Gojo in a grueling battle, demonstrating the immense power he wields with the Shrine and Ten Shadows Technique. But even at this level, the main villain of Jujutsu Kaisen still had another hidden ability, making him even more formidable than he was during the fight with Gojo.

Endgame Sukuna Is the Most Powerful Sorcerer in JJK History

By the end of Jujutsu Kaisen, things have taken a dark turn: Ryomen Sukuna has become more powerful than ever. Using a technique called Ten Shadows, and manifesting in his ancient Heian Era form, the King of Curses reaches a terrifying new level of strength, unlike anything the jujutsu world has ever witnessed.

Ryomen Sukuna, at his peak power, faced off against numerous powerful sorcerers simultaneously in the climax of JJK. He almost overcame the combined strength of over a dozen, including notable fighters like Hiromi Higuruma, Maki Zenin, Hajime Kashimo, Kinji Hakari, Yuta Okkotsu, and Yuji Itadori. What makes this feat so remarkable is that Sukuna couldn’t use his full range of abilities, as he had temporarily exhausted his Ten Shadows technique during his battle with Gojo.

If Sukuna had reached his peak power, he almost certainly would have won the final battle in JJK. As Kashimo points out, this version of Sukuna was essentially the perfect jujutsu sorcerer, and it took the combined power of many generations of sorcerers to even slow him down. Without Gojo, Yuta, and Itadori pushing him to his absolute limit, Sukuna’s final form could have caused destruction worldwide for an unknown amount of time.
