Syfy’s ‘Revival’ Comic Book Adaptation Sets Main Cast

As a lifelong cinephile who’s seen his fair share of zombie and small-town drama narratives, I must admit that “Revival” piques my interest. The diverse cast, led by the talented Melanie Scrofano, seems promising for this adaptation of Tim Seeley and Mike Norton’s Image Comics series.

The principal cast for Syfy’s upcoming revamp of Tim Seeley and Mike Norton’s Image Comics series titled “Revival” has been confirmed, with Melanie Scrofano, Romy Weltman, David James Elliott, and Andy McQueen taking the lead roles. Production on this series has commenced in New Brunswick, Canada.

In the heartland of Wisconsin, an extraordinary day occurs when people buried in the local cemetery come back to life. Yet, this isn’t your typical zombie tale; the revived individuals behave exactly as they did before death. When small-town police officer Dana Cypress, a single mother, finds herself unwittingly at the center of a gruesome murder investigation of her own, she must navigate the turmoil amidst a town gripped by fear and uncertainty, where everyone – whether alive or not – becomes a potential suspect.

Scrofano portrays Dana, a character who consistently needs to demonstrate her value to an obstinate sheriff, who also happens to be her father. However, things take an unexpected turn as she prepares to depart from her quaint town forever, when the occurrences of Revival Day intervene, causing her to embark on her most crucial case yet instead.

In the storyline, Weltman portrays Martha “Em” Cypress, the sheriff’s younger daughter who has spent most of her life confined due to a persistent illness. As she navigates through life, she’s still trying to find her niche, and with events that have recently transpired, her world – especially hers – seems to be flipped on its head.

Elliott portrays Wayne Cypress, the veteran sheriff of Wausau, who is resolute on maintaining a sense of normality and security for his town and loved ones. However, this becomes a significant challenge when the deceased start resurfacing in the peaceful community he’s vowed to defend.

McQueen portrays Dr. Ibrahim Ramin, a researcher from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, who is assigned in Wausau to investigate the unusual occurrence causing individuals to resurrect.

Actress Scrofano (known for “Wynonna Earp” and “Designated Survivor”) is represented by Ambition Talent Agency and Insight Entertainment. Similarly, Weltman (recognized in “Slasher” and “Murdoch Mysteries”) is managed by AMI Artist Management Inc. and the Burstein Company. Elliott (“JAG,” “Mad Men”) is signed with Gersh and Luber Roklin Entertainment. McQueen (“Mrs. Davis”) has The Characters, Buchwald, and Anonymous Content as her representatives.

I’ve been captivated by the gripping series known as “Revival,” which was masterfully crafted by showrunners Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce. These talented individuals serve not only as creators but also executive producers, working alongside Lance Samuels, Daniel Iron, Samantha Levine, Daniel March, and Stephen. The production companies Blue Ice Pictures and Hemmings Films have brought this incredible project to life under their guidance.
