Juno rockets up the Overwatch 2 meta as her pick rates surge following recent buffs.

As a seasoned Overwatch 2 player with years of experience under my belt, I must say that Juno has been quite the surprise this Season 12. Initially, she seemed like just another support hero, but boy, was I wrong! After the recent balance update, she’s become the new go-to choice for many players, myself included.

Season 12 of Overwatch 2 has been packed with action, introducing a multitude of modifications, fresh content, and adjustments to the gameplay dynamics. Although worries about D.Va’s excessive power have subsided, another character, Juno, has swiftly gained popularity since her debut this season.

At first, players held no strong feelings towards Juno’s debut, but a recent adjustment to her balance has noticeably altered her status within the game’s competitive landscape. Now, let’s explore the rise of Juno in Overwatch 2 and consider what this shift might imply for her continued presence in the game.

Overwatch 2 Meta Shifts In Favor of Juno As Her Pick Rate Skyrockets

Upon her debut, several players, even those in higher tiers and professional arenas, initially underestimated Juno as a viable meta pick. Compared to other support characters, she didn’t seem to outshine the likes of Lucio for speed, Kiriko for damage output, or Ana in terms of crowd control (CC).

Initially, Juno didn’t seem particularly attractive due to her lack of striking features. However, a recent update or fix (hotfix patch) significantly improved her abilities (buffs), and now she’s winning over many skeptics. In the current meta of Season 12, Juno is becoming the preferred character for numerous players, and her gameplay has been commendable.

Over the past month, I’ve noticed some impressive stats about Juno from Overbuff – she’s been one of the most picked and successful heroes across all ranks! The only ones who outdid her were Ana, particularly in Bronze and Grandmaster tiers. Yet, despite this, Juno continues to be a reliable teammate for either Ana or Brigitte, solidifying her impactful role in the current meta.

Juno rockets up the Overwatch 2 meta as her pick rates surge following recent buffs.

She consistently outperforms Ana in leagues ranging from Silver to Master, with a superior win ratio and average KDA. In the Platinum league, which many players find themselves in, Juno stands out with an impressive 8.26% pick frequency and a 52.71% win ratio. This makes her the most frequently chosen hero and places her among the top five performers when it comes to win ratios across the entire roster.

The influence of Juno reaches beyond simple gameplay; she has gained popularity within the competitive gaming world too. During the Overwatch Contenders Korea Stage Two tournament, commentators recognized that Juno was frequently utilized in team strategies, to the point where they coined the term “Junoats” for these compositions. These strategies often paired Juno with Brigitte, forming a speedy composition along with Ramattra, Mei, and Ashe.

Regarding her adaptability, Juno has demonstrated effectiveness as both a primary or backup support. She shines in skirmishes, brawls, and dive team compositions. With her recent upgrades and the developers expressing satisfaction with her results, it’s likely that Juno will maintain her dominance among support characters throughout Season 12.
