Dead by Daylight Spinoff "Project T" Canceled

As a long-time fanatic of Dead by Daylight, I can’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment upon hearing the news about Project T being cancelled. It was like a beacon of hope for us survivors, offering a fresh perspective within the established universe we’ve come to love. The idea of exploring new regions and battling Thralls in a shooter format sounded enticing, and I had high hopes for this co-op PVE experience.

As a gaming enthusiast, I was eagerly anticipating the release of Project T, the spinoff game from Dead by Daylight universe. Unfortunately, Behaviour Interactive, the masterminds behind this franchise, have announced today that they’ve had to cancel the project. Back in March, we got a sneak peek at this exciting 4-v1 co-op PVE shooter, which was set to be another fantastic addition to the Dead by Daylight universe.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve always been eager to get my hands on new projects. That’s why, when we were brainstorming ideas for Project T, we decided to bring gamers like you into the loop as early as feasible. This thinking birthed our Insiders Program! This exclusive club offered a sneak peek at Project T and invited players to share their valuable feedback. The developers assured us that your insights would mold the game into something truly exceptional.

Despite many players expressing gratitude for their experience, it’s unfortunate that the comprehensive review produced less than optimal total outcomes. We greatly appreciate your backing during this exciting adventure, as expressed by Behaviour.

Project T, unveiled during Dead by Daylight’s 8th anniversary event this year, was set to provide players an opportunity to assume the role of “Trespassers,” venturing into a fresh area within the Entity’s Realm known as the Backwater. Players would have utilized vehicles, talismans, weapons, and other equipment to delve deeper into the realm and engage in combat with the Thrall, offering an entirely novel experience within the established Dead by Daylight universe.

Although Project T would have been the initial shooter within the Dead by Daylight universe, it’s important to note that it wasn’t the franchise’s first spinoff. In fact, Dead by Daylight introduced a dating simulator titled Hooked on You in mid-2022, and Supermassive Games recently released their narrative-based game, The Casting of Frank Stone, earlier this year.
