MTG Duskmourn – Death Toll Full Deck Reveal

Well, as a seasoned Magic: The Gathering aficionado with over two decades under my belt, I must say that this Death Toll precon deck is quite the formidable creation! It’s like a grim reaper’s toolkit, designed to dance with death and draw cards at every turn.

The upcoming MTG Duskmourn set is about to drop, boasting four pre-built commander decks, one of which is Death Toll. Headed by Winter, Cynical Opportunist, this deck primarily revolves around shuffling your own cards from the graveyard back into your deck, a strategy known as milling. Additionally, the deck’s commander enables the controller to return permanent cards from their graveyard to the battlefield.

Is there a possibility that the Death Toll deck will prove to be an effective preconstructed commander deck for Magic: The Gathering (MTG), given its complete composition as shown below?

MTG Death Toll Commander Deck

🎮 As a fellow Magic: The Gathering enthusiast, I can’t wait to hit up my local game store (LGS) on September 27, 2024! That’s when we’ll see the new MTG Duskmourn preconstructed commander decks hitting the shelves. Prices are expected to range from around $47 to $50, so it’s a good idea to check with your favorite store to see what they’re charging. Can’t wait to start building my next deck! 🎲📦

If you’re curious about the Duskmourn preconstructed decks, let me share with you the key details regarding the forthcoming Death Toll deck.

Commander

Winter, Cynical OpportunistMTG Duskmourn – Death Toll Full Deck Reveal

Winter, Cynical Opportunist is a four-cost (two generic, one black, and one green) legendary creature with Deathtouch.

Whenever Winter attacks, mill three cards.

At the close of your turn, you can remove any number of cards from your graveyard that contain at least four distinct card types. If you choose to do so, place one of those cards as a permanent on the battlefield, with a mark indicating it’s indestructible.

It’s advisable for players to think about incorporating cards with “enters the battlefield” triggers, as this will enhance Winter’s Delirium effect. Including cards with Flashback could also be beneficial if Delirium doesn’t activate. This way, the controller can still utilize spells that were sent to the graveyard due to Winter’s attack trigger.
