Watch 4 Minutes Of Netflix's Gundam: Requiem For Vengeance

As a seasoned gamer and long-time fan of the Gundam franchise, the trailer for “Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance” has sent me soaring with anticipation! With its stunning visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5, this film promises to be a spectacle like no other.

Over the summer, fans were given a sneak peek of Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance through the trailer debut. However, Netflix later unveiled a complete four-minute preview of the upcoming movie. Being part of the expansive Gundam series, Requiem for Vengeance is the second production to be fully computer animated–the first being Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO–and it’s also the first full series to be animated using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5.

In the year 0079, according to the Universal Century timeline, the Principality of Zeon breaks away from the Earth Federation, leading to a devastating war between the two powers. The Zeon forces, equipped with groundbreaking technology called Mobile Suits, initially dominate the battlefield. Yet, despite their initial success, they were unable to seize control over the entire Earth, resulting in a prolonged and tense standoff.

The movie unfolds eleven months into the conflict, with scenes depicting Earth Federation troops aiming to capture a Zeon-held facility in Eastern Europe. During this battle, pilot Iria Sorari and the Red Wolves, a specialized Mobile Suit unit, intervene as events unfold.

The movie was jointly produced by animation studios Sunrise and SAFEHOUSE, Inc., with Gavin Hignight (Tekken: Bloodline) penning the script and Erasmus Brosdau serving as director.

Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance premieres October 17, exclusively on Netflix.
