In my view, the captivating 90-minute drama yet to be named delves into the poignant topics of manipulation and sexual misconduct, focusing on the heartrending saga of the Mitchell family. Faced with the harsh reality after their offender – a kin – steps out of prison, they must bravely confront and navigate the challenging aftermath of the abuse that has shaken their family’s foundation.
Actors Bobby Schofield, David Threlfall, and Mark Womack join forces with Friel, recognized from “Marcella,” “Pushing Daisies,” and “Motherland,” along with Maxwell Martin, in this production.
More casting is set to be confirmed in due course.
Julia Ford (“Trial in the Spotlight”) will be the director, while LA Productions (“The Fragile”) are responsible for production. Donna Molloy is also serving as a producer. McGovern, along with Colin McKeown from LA Productions, Nawfal Faizullah, and Katherine Bond from the BBC, are executive producers.
McGovern is well-known for producing numerous successful dramas such as “Cracker” and the prison series “Time,” with Sean Bean and Stephen Graham appearing in the initial season, while the second season, focusing on a women’s prison, featured Jodie Whittaker, Bella Ramsey, and Tamara Lawrance.
McGovern expressed his astonishment at the team gathered for this project, stating, ‘This is quite a demanding movie, it’s true, but I’m eagerly anticipating its premiere,'” or more casually, “‘I’m blown away by our cast and crew for this production – it’s a tough film, but I can’t wait to see it on the big screen.’
