As a die-hard gaming enthusiast with over three decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia when I see Worms Armageddon making its grand return! This turn-based strategy gem has been a staple in my gaming library since its release in 1999, and the upcoming Anniversary Collector’s Edition has me absolutely thrilled.
25 years ago in 1999, the game Worms Armageddon entered the gaming world with a bang! To honor its birthday and console/PC re-release, a special collector’s edition filled with physical trinkets is being released. Although the digital version of the game became available on PS5, Xbox, and Switch earlier this year, if you’re interested in collecting unique items, take a closer look at the collector’s edition which will be available on December 3.

If you haven’t encountered Worms Armageddon before, it’s a strategy game where participants engage in 2D turn-based combat. Each round, players alternate turns by firing weapons such as missiles or grenades, while creating chaos and attempting to eliminate all other players on the map.
In this game, environments can be completely altered, enabling you to create tunnels for yourself or trap your opponents in pits to restrict their movement. There’s a great deal of strategic depth to the entertaining combat, and while beginners can quickly grasp the fundamentals, advanced players will find a wealth of complexities to explore.
This game is quite enjoyable, and back in 2000, our initial review awarded it an excellent 7.9/10. The reason? Its side-splitting arsenal of weapons and top-notch multiplayer features. If you never tried it before or yearn to revisit the excitement with modern graphics, I’d recommend giving it a spin!

Lastly, the Castlevania Dominus Collection has now been released on consoles and computers. This collection includes a total of five Castlevania games – three titles originally for the DS platform and two adaptations of the arcade game Haunted Castle. The PC version is currently on sale at Green Man Gaming, priced at only $18.75 (originally $25).
