This year, Sony plans to release its high-end PS5 Pro console priced at around $700. If that seems a bit pricey for you, consider the fact that refurbished standard PS5 models are expected to be available soon at more affordable prices. A new “Certified Refurbished” section has been added to the PlayStation Direct site, offering PS5 Digital Editions starting from $350 and PS5s with disc drives priced at $400.
As reported by PushSquare, the PS5 consoles are now in pristine condition after being thoroughly cleaned. These refurbished consoles were previously returned for various reasons, making them pre-owned items. Some minor cosmetic flaws may be present on the PS5 listings, but they come with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty. At this time, a shipping date has not been disclosed, but Sony promises to announce it soon.
In comparison to the PS5, the current PS5 model offers a more budget-friendly choice because its cost remains unchanged in the U.S., while it has gone up in other regions. Sony attributes these price hikes to various factors such as global economic conditions like the COVID-19 pandemic and other elements, resulting in this console generation not experiencing the usual decrease in prices due to reduced component costs. Additionally, the price of DualSense controllers has increased by $5, approaching nearly four years into the PS5’s lifecycle.
Starting from November 7, you can get your hands on the PS5 Pro for $700. However, it’s important to note that this console model doesn’t come with a disc drive built-in. If you wish to play physical game or movie discs, an additional $80 accessory, which serves as a disc drive, will be required for purchase.
