In the game Age of Mythology: Retold, it seems unexpected that there isn’t an Atlantean map, given that the Atlantean Pantheon is one of its four factions. There are numerous myths about Atlantis, and descriptions of its landscape from Plato’s accounts. According to these stories, Atlantis was a city built around concentric circles of land and water, with a central island at its heart.
JeHathor, the user, has designed a modifiable Atlantis map for gamers to install. This map includes elements such as building docks and producing ships, along with the usual villagers and military units. Not every map necessitates docks since many are primarily land-based, but this one would undoubtedly be improved by the inclusion of a couple of docks.
#5 Extended Minor God Selection
It feels a bit restrictive when you’re limited to selecting from only two lesser deities, especially considering that each major god has a small pool of lesser deities who can bestow abilities upon you during your playthrough. Regardless of which major god you decide to align with in your campaign, they will offer you powers from six lesser gods at various points in the game.
Every time I progress to the next age, I get to select a new lesser deity, usually having a choice between two. But with the Extended Minor God Selection mod, I can opt for any of the lesser gods to join my pantheon, regardless of the major god I initially picked. This way, I have more freedom and variety in my divine roster!
#4 Deadly mythic units
In simpler terms, it seems that Mythic Units are currently quite challenging to manage in gameplay. However, given the time and resources required to create them, as well as the necessary prerequisites, it might be beneficial to increase their power level.
This modification enhances your Mythic Units with additional perks during combat against regular troops from humans. Given that these common troops form the majority of any player or AI’s military force, this is an excellent addition to your gaming experience.
#3 2x Population and resources tweaks
This mod was included in the list primarily due to its excellent quality, but I must admit that the appealing image selected by player Crevette to symbolize their mod may have also played a small role. The 2x resources and population adjustments mod is precisely what Age of Mythology: Retold seems to be missing for extended gameplay sessions.
During the course of your game (approximately an hour into it), you’ll reach a stage where your population capacity is maxed out. This can be frustrating because within the game, there are no options to address this other than sending your troops into battle against poorly prepared enemies (which isn’t wise) or sacrificing some of your villagers (less detrimental, but still not beneficial for resource collection).
Set aside what was mentioned earlier, this modification will not only double the maximum resources at your disposal but also expand the allowable population cap for a more advantageous gameplay experience. It’s a win-win situation.
#2 Gladiator worlds
The collaborative aspect of the Gladiator Worlds mod truly appealed to me. Unlike many other mods designed primarily for single players, this one was specifically crafted to facilitate multiplayer experiences where you and your companions embark on novel universes that challenge both your teamwork and strategic skills.
Retold. This mode requires your team to conquer six distinct stages, each with its own set of unique difficulties. After completing one game, you’ll be instantly transported to the shop where you can enhance your party before proceeding to the next level.
