Star Wars Outlaws Creative Director Confirm Next Patch To Resolve Early "Punishing" Missions

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but appreciate the transparency and dedication shown by Massive Entertainment in addressing the issues plaguing Star Wars Outlaws. It’s heartening to see developers who not only recognize flaws but actively strive to rectify them.

Since the game’s launch last month, developer Massive Entertainment has been diligently addressing both launch day problems and post-release concerns associated with Star Wars Outlaws, an action-adventure title. A quick fix for PC users was deployed shortly after release, resolving early graphics glitches. It appears a new update patch is on the horizon.

According to Julian Gerighty, Creative Director at Massive Entertainment, who recently spoke with GamesRadar+, there’s an upcoming news release scheduled soon. This update aims to rectify problems in the early stages of the game, particularly addressing instances where stealth sections or missions fail.

Based on an interview with Gerighty, it was mentioned that the developer felt the game’s difficulty levels were not as intended, particularly during early quests. Specifically, Massive’s creative director highlighted the missions within Mirogana City as being excessively challenging for players due to the instant-failure stealth sections, which he acknowledged was an error and will be rectified in future iterations.

Instead of eliminating the failed state entirely, I believe there are numerous opportunities for improvement where we can make the experience more pleasant and clear. Although Gerighty pointed out that the purpose of these stealth sections was to create a “kind of tension” during climactic moments, it seems that this didn’t achieve their intended effect or design.

Today, I have to say it seems unjust, but let me clarify, this isn’t what we planned. It appears unexpectedly over the past week, and we’re swiftly addressing it for an update expected in about 10 days.

In essence, Gerighty announced that a Star Wars Outlaws patch update will be released within the following week or so. However, it’s unclear how extensive these changes will affect various quests or parts of the game. On a positive note, it’s reassuring to know that Massive Entertainment is paying attention to player feedback regarding gameplay and performance issues and are working diligently to address these problems on both consoles and PC platforms in the near future.
