As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about the upcoming release of Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist. Having grown up on classics like Castlevania and Metroid, the blend of metroidvania action RPG gameplay in this title is right up my alley.
Developer duo Adglobe & Livewire, along with publisher Binary Haze Interactive, have officially announced the release date of their acclaimed side-scrolling RPG titled “Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist.” This much-anticipated game is set to debut on January 22, 2025, across various platforms such as PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Having already gained momentum during its Early Access launch in March 2024, the game now boasts a near 4000 reviews and an exceptional ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating of 97%.

Traverse a gloomy 2D role-playing game set within a decaying universe inhabited by melancholic artificial life forms known as homunculi. With hybrid beings attacking humanity, purge their souls of corruption, find the origin of their oppression, and embark on a journey that seeks redemption for both humans and machines.
After the events of “The Rain of Death” in Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, which was a worldwide success with over 1.5 million copies sold, comes the highly anticipated sequel, Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist. The game promises approximately 35 hours of content upon its release in version 1.0 and introduces new bosses to purify, fresh skills to combine for unique playstyles, and intriguing biomes to explore. Each defeated boss will join Lilac’s cause, adding 10 abilities (each with three alternative firing options), making a total of 30 new abilities available to Lilac. You can equip up to four abilities at once to create a personalized fighting style that combines short-range attacks, long-range projectiles, lock-on auto-attacks, and much more.
Traverse through a sprawling landscape brimming with artifacts that shed light on Ender Magnolia’s intriguing backstory, while also unlocking areas once inaccessible as Lilac progresses and her abilities grow stronger. Collect gold and mechanical components, which you can later trade for merchandise and enhancements at the Blacksmith’s shop. Unravel Lilac’s forgotten recollections to uncover the heart-wrenching tale of the Land of Fumes’ downfall.
The pre-sale for the actual edition will start shortly in Japan. Keep an eye out for updates regarding physical editions in other countries. Indie band Mili, hailing from international lands, is back to create the melancholic yet whimsical soundtrack for Ender Magnolia’s world.
Story
Located in the Land of Mists, this thriving magical nation is rich with hidden magical reserves beneath its soil. In an attempt to boost their kingdom’s progress, they created life forms called Homunculi. Sadly, noxious fumes from below caused the Homunculi to lose their sanity, transforming them into wild beasts.
In a subterranean lab, Lilac, who’s known as an “Attuner” with the ability to rescue Homunculi, meets these beings connected to the kingdom’s decay. She embarks on a voyage in the Land of Fumes, seeking her forgotten past and cherished companions amidst destruction and renewal. This odyssey unfolds in a hand-drawn, post-apocalyptic setting.
Scenario
Ender Magnolia is a 2D side-scrolling action RPG set in the dark fantasy realm of Fumes, where your mission is to rescue both humans and Homunculi. This kingdom, known for its advancements in magic and machinery, has a complex social structure. As you explore, you’ll encounter deserted cities, laboratories brimming with sinister secrets, a prestigious Sorcerer’s Academy, massive factories, and many other intriguing sights. Prepare to unravel the hauntingly beautiful yet grotesque world of Ender Magnolia.
