Rob Corddry Promoted to Series Regular for ‘Bookie’ Season 2

As a long-time cinema enthusiast with an appreciation for both comedic brilliance and compelling narratives, I am thrilled to see Rob Corddry‘s elevation to series regular status for “Bookie”. His rich background in comedy, spanning from his days as a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” to leading the darkly humorous “Children’s Hospital”, promises an enriching addition to this already stellar cast.

For the second season of the comedic series “Bookie” produced by Max, Rob Corddry has been upgraded to a permanent cast member. In the previous season, which is created by Chuck Lorre, he played the recurring character Walt Dinty as a guest star.

The second season of “Bookie” will premiere on the streaming platform in December, with Brian Corddry joining other recurring actors such as Sebastian Maniscalco, Omar J. Dorsey, Jorge Garcia, Andrea Anders, Vanessa Ferlito, and Maxim Swinton for another round of appearances.

In my perspective, the film titled “Bookie” delves into the life of seasoned Los Angeles bookie, Danny (Maniscalco), who finds himself on shaky ground as the prospect of legalized sports gambling in California looms. Joining him on this journey are his confidant and ex-NFL player Ray (Dorsey), enterprising sister Lorraine (Ferlito), and a reformed, albeit reluctant, drug dealer Hector (Garcia). Together, they navigate the tumultuous waters of managing unpredictable clients, attempting to settle their financial obligations, all while placing their own daring wagers.

Recently, Corddry has been featured in TV shows such as “Hit-Monkey,” “The Unicorn,” “This Fool,” and “History of the World: Part II.” Additionally, his film credits include “The Donor Party” and “80 for Brady.” This comedian is most recognized for his roles in both versions of the “Hot Tub Time Machine” series and for leading Adult Swim’s dark comedy show “Children’s Hospital,” which aired from 2008 to 2016. His career took off when he became a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Corddry is repped by WME and Sechel PR.

Bookie” was developed, scripted, and overseen by Chuck Lorre along with Nick Bakay, one of the creators from “The Big Bang Theory.” Other executive producers on the project include Jim Jefferies (Maniscalco), Judi Marmel, and Andy Tennant, who also directed several episodes.
