Actress Anjelica Huston, renowned for her captivating portrayals of witches in cinema, has been announced as the lead star in the upcoming blended live-action/animation movie titled “The Christmas Witch Trial of La Befana.” This film is a groundbreaking project as it marks HighballTV’s inaugural foray into animation production, hailing from Canada.
As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I’d say: “Inspired by an endearing Italian folklore, ‘The Christmas Witch Trial of La Befana’ follows a band of kids who seize the iconic Christmas Witch (played by Huston) and stage a trial to drive her away from her yearly verdicts.”
David James Brock (also known as “Mother of All Shows”) collaborated with Melissa D’Agostino from Highball TV on writing and conceptualizing the project. They did this in partnership with Matt Campagna, who will be directing. D’Angostino is also producing the project alongside Jonathan Sharp.
As reported by HighballTV, the production is set to employ various animation styles prominently, with a heavy reliance on rotoscoping. Moreover, the movie’s soundtrack will be an original creation by the trio comprising Brock, D’Angostino, and Rebecca Everett.
Alongside Huston, other actors expected to be part of the movie are Jesse Gervasi, Maya Misaljevic, Luca Doulgeris, Paolo Mancini, Tarah Consoli, Juan Chioran, Phil Luzi, and the writer-director, D’Agostino.
In the United States, Huston is represented by Tim Curtis at William Morris Endeavor, while in the UK, he’s managed by Christian Hodell at Hamilton Hodell.
