Players have also facing black screen or infinite loading, and some of them are disappointed about the lack of Ultrawide support, Steam Deck compatibility, Ray Tracing and HDR. However, the most pressing concern is excessive CPU heat, and we’re here to help.
Space Marine 2 – Creating New Power Plan to Prevent CPU Overheat
As a dedicated Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 gamer, here’s what I do when my CPU heats up during gameplay:
- Open the Control Panel: Type Control Panel into the search bar located at the bottom of your screen.
- Locate the Power Options: Use the search bar in the Control Panel to find it.
- Make a custom power plan: Click on “Create a power plan”, name it, and then click on “Next” and finally “Create”.
- Modify your power plan: Click on “Change plan settings” and then “Change advance power settings”.
- Look for “PCI Express” and then “Link State Power Management”. Choose “Moderate power savings”.
- Find “Processor Power Management” and adjust the settings. Set the minimum processor state to 80% and the maximum to 90%. You can raise these values gradually if your PC can handle it.
- Save your new power plan: Click on “Apply” and then “OK”. These changes should lower your CPU temperature when playing Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2. You can use this power plan just for this game and go back to your normal power plan for other stuff.
As a gaming enthusiast, I always recommend closing any unneeded applications running in the background or overlaid on my screen during gameplay. This simple step can significantly lighten the load on my computer’s central processing unit (CPU), potentially preventing potential hardware damage from prolonged high-performance tasks. It’s a small sacrifice for the thrill of an uninterrupted gaming experience!
Space Marine 2 – Intel 13th and 14th Gen CPU Issues
13th and 14th generation Intel CPUs have experienced issues such as crashes, errors, and CPU overheating in some PCs. These problems seem to stem from a compatibility issue. Here are some key points to consider:
- Power Surge: Your motherboard might be supplying excessive power to the CPU, causing instability.
- Auto–Overclocking: Some motherboards automatically overclock these CPUs, potentially pushing them to their limits.
A great initial action would be to upgrade your motherboard’s firmware, as these updates often address compatibility problems. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, try downloading the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and reduce the “Performance Core Ratio” by at least 2 steps.
