As a dedicated fan of DanMachi, with countless hours spent navigating the labyrinth and witnessing Bell Cranel’s growth, I am thrilled to see Bushiroad expanding the world of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? into an action RPG. The announcement of a simultaneous release on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, along with the Japanese and English versions, is music to my ears.
Bushiroad has announced that the upcoming DanMachi action RPG, titled Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Familia Myth ~Fullland of Water and Light~, is set to release not just on Nintendo Switch, but also on PC through Steam. The game will be accessible in both Japanese and English languages at the same time
Furthermore, Bushiroad unveiled fresh original characters set to take significant parts in the game’s narrative. These characters were conceptualized by Kakage, who has previously contributed to the DanMachi series, specifically projects like Argonaut and Astraea Record. Here, from left to right, you can see the new characters:
- Belinda Altanetta (voiced by Asami Seto), a saint who existed thousands of years ago and got featured in the heroic tale “Fullland of Water and Light”.
- Dine (voiced by Sayaka Kikuchi), a water spirit who has been existing since thousands of years ago.
- Fullland Howls (voiced by Kazuki Ura), a knight featured in the heroic tale who was also Belinda’s fiance.
The narrative unfolds as the city of Orario morphs into a submerged realm dubbed the Water World. Our main character, Bell Cranel, encounters a water spirit named Dine, who addresses him by the name “Fullland,” reminiscent of the knight from an epic tale, and bestows upon him a sword imbued with water
This is the first substantial information batch Bushiroad released for this action RPG. When the company first revealed the title at last March’s GA Fes 2024, they only confirmed a Japanese release for Nintendo Switch without any art other than the game logo. Bushiroad was also spotted gradually publishing the story synopsis and new character trailers on their YouTube channel earlier this week.
