‘Creature Commandos’ Animated Series Sets Max Premiere Date

As a longtime DC Comics enthusiast who has seen my fair share of adaptations over the years, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming “Creature Commandos” series on Max! The concept of a secret team of monstrous characters, tasked with missions too dangerous for humans, is not only intriguing but also promises to bring a fresh and unique take on the DC universe.

The “Creature Commandos” animated series has set its premiere date on Max.

The DC Studios series is set to premiere on December 5th. After that, new episodes will be released every Thursday. The initial season has a total of seven episodes and it will wrap up on January 16th

James Gunn, who shares the leadership role at DC Studios, serves as both writer and executive producer for this series. The show’s summary describes it as following a clandestine group of monstrous prisoners assigned to carry out missions that are too risky for humans. When all other solutions have been exhausted… they become your final, most dreadful choice

The cast includes Steve Agee as Economos, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana, Anya Chalotra as Circe, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sean Gunn as GI Robot & Weasel, David Harbour as Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, Indira Varma as The Bride, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

The animated series “Creature Commandos” is connected to characters from DC Comics, and it’s produced by both DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation. Alongside Gunn, Peter Safran, another co-head at DC Studios, serves as an executive producer, as do Dean Lorey and Sam Register. Rick Morales oversees the production as a supervising producer

Among the initial DC television projects to debut on Max following the takeover by Gunn and Safran at DC Studios, this one stands out. Other forthcoming shows include “The Penguin” live-action series featuring Colin Farrell, interconnected with Matt Reeves’ “The Batman.” Additionally, Gunn is working on a fresh season of “Peacemaker” with John Cena reprising his role from Gunn’s “Suicide Squad” movie. In the realm of films, Gunn has concluded shooting a new “Superman” production starring David Corenswet as Superman
