Star Wars Outlaws Lead Hopes To Portray Character In Live Action Adaptation

As a seasoned gamer who has navigated the vastness of galaxies and battled interstellar foes, I can confidently say that Star Wars Outlaws has truly captured my imagination. The game’s intriguing narrative, set amidst the thriving criminal underworld, offers a fresh perspective within the Star Wars universe.

It’s been a week following the global launch of Massive Entertainment’s galactic action-adventure Star Wars Outlaws, which saw players living out their epic Scoundrel adventures through its protagonist, Kay Vess. The game’s timeline does find itself in rather good company; taking place between Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, it places the spotlight on the galaxy’s criminal underworld, freeing itself from any ties to the Jedi or Sith.

Despite the uncertain canonical status of Star Wars Outlaws, with neither the developers, publishers nor Lucasfilm offering clarification, lead actress Humberly González has shared some insights on potential future ventures for both Kay and Nix. In a conversation with entertainment outlet Variety, González expressed her desire to reprise her role as Kay Vess in Star Wars

In her Variety interview, González shared that the game’s timeline is an enticing “dreamscape” for both herself and the developers to delve into. She went on to say that at this point in time, “criminal organizations are flourishing” within the universe of ‘Star Wars’, as corruption runs deep. As for Kay Vess, who had no affiliation with any faction, syndicate, or organization, González described her as a character who yearns for wealth and freedom amidst the galaxy

It’s truly fascinating to imagine Kay Vess brought to life in live-action. What makes this idea so captivating is that animations often lack the subtle nuances of genuine human emotions displayed through micro-expressions on screen. Additionally, the opportunity to immerse myself in her character, her look, her presence, her environment, and witness her interactions with actual characters and creatures, would be a truly unforgettable experience for me

González’s dream of hoping to return as Kay Vess in a live-action Star Wars property is the same goal Star Wars Jedi star Cameron Monaghan (Cal Kestis) had previously echoed. “I think there’s so many opportunities to see Kay Vess and other aspects of established roles in Star Wars, because we’re in the original trilogy, and there’s so many opportunities for her to exist or show up and in different places. So it would be amazing, and I think fans would love it,” González concluded.
