Which Bachelorette Producer Proposed This Idea?

As a keen observer of reality television and its often unpredictable twists and turns, I must say that the turn of events in The Bachelorette season 21 finale left me utterly astonished. Jenn Tran’s journey as the first Asian American Bachelorette was filled with hope and anticipation, a beacon of representation for many viewers. Yet, the abrupt ending to her engagement with Devin Strader leaves a bitter aftertaste that is hard to ignore.

Fan tweets, “Welcome to the Hall of LAME, Devin Strader!” shortly after the season 21 finale of The Bachelorette aired on ABC. The September 3 episode showed that 25-year-old physician’s assistant student Jenn Tran proposed to Strader, but he later ended their engagement over the phone. According to Tran, he claimed he never truly loved her and followed his former Bachelor castmate Maria Georgas on Instagram the following day. As a result, many members of Bachelor Nation now view Strader unfavorably. The comments under his latest Instagram post reflect this sentiment (“these comments are so mean 😭🫶🏼🙏🏼 please listen to them ♥️🎉🥰” reads one message with over 1,500 likes). However, much of the internet’s anger is also directed towards the show’s producers for having Tran rewatch her loving proposal while sitting next to Strader in front of a live audience.
