His talent was undeniable, from his heartwarming performances in “Gidget” to his captivating roles in “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” and “T.J. Hooker”. He was more than just an actor or singer; he was a symbol of youthful charm and versatility that transcended generations.
88-year-old James Darren, who initially found fame as a teen idol in films like “Gidget,” later transitioned into acting for TV shows like “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” and “T.J. Hooker.” Additionally, he pursued careers in singing and directing. Tragically, he passed away on Monday at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
Jim Moret, his son, shared that during his hospitalization in the cardiac ward, he managed to convey his affection towards his family. “He was an exceptional person,” Moret expressed, ” immensely gifted and ever youthful.”
He leaves behind his wife Evy, as well as sons Jim Moret, Christian Darren, and twin sons Tony Darren; additionally, he has five grandchildren.
