ConcernedApe Opens Up About Stardew Valley 1.6 For Consoles & Mobile Woes

As a dedicated Stardew Valley enthusiast with countless hours spent cultivating digital farms and nurturing virtual relationships, I eagerly awaited the release of update 1.6. The anticipation was palpable, especially when ConcernedApe hinted at a console and mobile release shortly after the PC version dropped.

On March 19, 2024, the highly anticipated update 1.6 for Stardew Valley was launched on PC by independent developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone. This update turned out to be larger than expected, providing a unique gaming experience. Ever since then, players have been eagerly waiting for the release of Stardew Valley update 1.6 on console and mobile platforms.

In celebration of Stardew Valley’s 8th anniversary, the developer hinted at the imminent release of the 1.6 update, mentioning that the console and mobile versions would be available shortly after.

It’s already more than five months past, but we’re yet to see the release of Stardew Valley version 1.6 on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Android devices, and iPhones.

It appears there’s a situation regarding the game Haunted Chocolatier, as developer ConcernedApe has shared that he hasn’t started working on it yet, instead continuing to focus on delivering the most recent Stardew Valley update for mobile and console platforms.

The development of console and mobile versions is ongoing, and I understand that it has been taking longer than expected. There are various factors contributing to this delay, but the truth is, they haven’t been released yet. We’ve been diligently working on them since version 1.6 launched for PC, and we’re eager to bring them to you as soon as possible. I wish I could say they’re ready today, but unfortunately, that’s not the case. All we can do is keep pushing forward until they are finally ready for release.

I have not touched Haunted Chocolatier in a long time because I am committed to finalizing Stardew 1.6 first. To those who are frustrated or even agnry about the timeline, I understand and accept full responsibility. To those who are patient and understanding, thank you, you make life better and reduce stress, and I appreciate it. Back to work.

Although the developer garnered positive feedback from some fans, others expressed dissatisfaction with the response. For instance, one fan voiced concern over the release order of the PC version, pointing out spoilers, labeling it as unfair and stating that it was less than satisfactory.

As an ardent fan, I’ve come to appreciate that ConcernedApe meticulously articulates the perks of playing his games on a PC. The reason is crystal clear: troubleshooting and promptly releasing updates are a breeze on PC platforms. However, when it comes to consoles, the process is more laborious and time-consuming before the patches finally reach the players.

A significant advantage lies in PC gaming, as any discovered bugs (which inevitably occur) can be promptly addressed and patches released swiftly, frequently within hours of identification. In contrast, console updates take more time to reach players. Therefore, having all… (content/features/updates) is optimal for a seamless experience.

When can we expect Stardew Valley 1.6 on mobile devices and consoles? At the moment, there’s no definite release date as the developer hasn’t given a new timeframe yet. However, it’s encouraging to see ConcernedApe addressing fan inquiries and keeping players informed about the game’s progress.
