Black Ops 6 Beta Is Encountering Issues On Launch Day

As a seasoned Call of Duty player with countless hours spent in virtual battlefields, I must say that the excitement for Black Ops 6‘s multiplayer beta is palpable. However, like a soldier rushing into a battle unprepared, it seems we’ve been thrown headfirst into this new experience without enough server support to handle the influx of eager players.

The early access for the multiplayer beta of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is currently live, however, there appears to be a significant strain on the servers due to an overwhelming number of gamers attempting to log in simultaneously.

The servers became operational around 10 AM Pacific Time and 1 PM Eastern Time, causing a sudden influx of users which led to some issues due to excessive server congestion, apparently. Developer Treyarch is currently expanding the number of servers to alleviate this problem. In their response, Treyarch exclaimed, “More servers? More servers!”

For Black Ops 6’s beta, there’s a notable shift compared to previous Call of Duty betas as it will be simultaneously available across all platforms. Previously, PlayStation users had early access due to Sony’s financial support for Activision, but with Microsoft now owning Call of Duty, they’ve rewritten the rules, allowing for a unified launch on all systems at the same time.

The Call of Duty Updates account has announced that Black Ops 6 is introducing login queues as a means to handle excessive server demand. This could potentially lead to longer waiting periods during matchmaking for those who manage to log in. The company explained, “We’re making efforts to add more servers to expedite the process of getting players into the game and starting matches.”

The Black Ops 6 beta is available now for people who preordered the game or have Xbox Game Pass. Other ways to get in early include having Xfinity or paying $1 for a Game Pass trial. The early-access period runs until September 4. After that, an open beta available to everyone runs September 6-9.

On October 25th, Black Ops 6 officially drops, featuring a single-player campaign set in the ’90s, multiplayer options, and a Zombies mode with a revival of the classic, round-based gameplay.
