One of the stars of Sinners has joined the cast of The Last of Us Season 3.
The Last of Us, an HBO series that debuted in January 2023, is based on the acclaimed video game created by Naughty Dog. While Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann initially co-created the show, Druckmann, along with writers Halley Gross and Bo Shim, will not be involved in Season 3. This leaves Mazin as the sole showrunner for the upcoming season.
Season 3 of The Last of Us will feature Bella Ramsey returning as Ellie, alongside new cast members Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Gabriel Luna as Tommy Miller, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Spencer Lord as Owen, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Ariela Barer as Mel, Michelle Mao as Yara, Kyriana Kratter as Lev, Jeffrey Wright as Isaac Dixon, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. as Manny, Jason Ritter as Hanley, Patrick Wilson as Jerry, and Clea DuVall.
Who has joined the cast of The Last of Us Season 3?
According to Variety, Li Jun Li has joined the cast of the upcoming show. She’ll play Miriam, a member of the Seraphite group and the mother of Lev and Yara. These siblings will have a significant encounter with Abby just as Ellie starts her quest for revenge in Seattle.
Actress Li recently starred as Grace Show in Ryan Coogler’s film, Sinners, released last year. She’s currently working on the Spider-Noir series as Cat Hardy, and her previous roles include appearances in Ricki and the Flash (2015) and Babylon (2022). She’s also set to appear in the upcoming film Alma and the Wolf in 2025.
The Last of Us is a collaboration between HBO and Sony Pictures Television, with production support from PlayStation Productions, Word Games, Mighty Mint, and Naughty Dog. Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells are the show’s executive producers.
An HBO Max premiere date for The Last of Us Season 3 has not yet been set.
