To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Pokémon is partnering with a restaurant to create a menu inspired by famous moves from the Pokémon universe. The dishes are designed to look like the iconic attacks!
After a 25-year hiatus, Pokémon are coming back to Pop-Tarts, and now, the Japanese restaurant chain Gusto is joining the fun! They’re launching a Pokémon-themed menu across the country, featuring dishes inspired by the original starter Pokémon: Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur.
Okay, so they’ve got everything Pokemon-themed, and I mean everything! They even made a Pikachu burger – seriously, a burger shaped like Pikachu! It’s a fun idea, and thankfully, they made it clear that no Pokemon were actually used to make the food, which is good to know! It’s all just inspired by them, which is perfect.
Pokemon moves have never looked so delicious
First, there’s Charmander’s “Fire Spin” – a dish inspired by the Pokémon’s famous attack. It features spaghetti with meat sauce and a spiral-cut potato to mimic the move’s swirling flames.
Next up is the Bulbasaur “Razor Leaf” – a dish inspired by the Pokémon’s signature move! It features crunchy, jagged-edged nachos designed to look like leaves, served over a base of seasoned ground meat, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, and fluffy white rice.
If you love Water-type Pokémon and are looking for a sweet treat after your meal, try Squirtle’s “Surf”! This sundae features refreshing ramune-flavored shaved ice, creamy soft serve, and fun popping candy – a truly delicious combination.
Finally, the Pikachu burger comes in special foil packaging opened with a cutter shaped like a Pikachu tail. The burger is filled with melted cheese and served with a meat gravy. It also includes a small side of vegetables – after all, Pokémon trainers need their daily vitamins!
The Charmander pasta and Bulbasaur taco rice both cost ¥1,099, which is about $7.60. The Squirtle dessert is a bit cheaper at ¥799 (around $5.50). The most expensive item is Pikachu’s burger, priced at ¥1,429, or $9.
With every purchase, customers can select either an acrylic stand or a prize from a Pokemon arcade game, while supplies last. If you’re visiting Japan between April 23rd and June 17th, 2026, you’ll also have the chance to try food inspired by famous Pokemon moves – something we’ve all been curious about!
Pokémon isn’t the only franchise partnering with the food world. The anime series Umamusume recently gained attention for its alcoholic beverages—inspired by Vodka—and its range of tasty snacks.
