Fans of the Meet the Parents series will be happy to hear the Fockers are returning after 16 years! The first trailer for Focker-in-Law, the latest comedy in the franchise, has just been released.
The first trailer has arrived for Focker-in-Law, the newest movie in the popular comedy series after more than ten years. Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro return as Greg Focker and Jack Byrnes, and Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner, and Teri Polo are also back as Kevin Rawley, Dina Byrnes, and Pam Byrnes Focker, reprising their roles from the previous films.
The Focker Children Are All Grown Up
As a big fan of the Meet the Parents movies, I was excited to see the trailer for the new one! It’s great to see some of the original cast returning, but I was also really happy to see Skyler Gisondo (you might recognize him from Superman) and Beanie Feldstein (Lady Bird was amazing!) joining the family as Greg and Pam’s grown-up kids, Henry and Samantha. They’re actually taking over the roles from Colin Baiocchi and Daisy Tahan, who played the kids in Little Fockers way back in 2010. It’s fun to see how the characters have grown up!
Ariana Grande joins the main cast as Olivia Jones. Ben Stiller previously praised her work in September, noting how seamlessly she fit into the role in Focker-in-Law. He highlighted her professionalism, comedic timing, and talent – not only as a singer, but also in Wicked. Stiller added that her character in this new movie is unique and that he enjoys working with her.
John Hamburg, who previously co-wrote the first three Meet the Parents movies, wrote and directed Focker-in-Law. This marks his sixth time directing a film, following Safe Men (1998), Along Came Polly (2004), I Love You, Man (2009), Why Him? (2016), and Me Time (2022).
Meet the Parents Is 1 of Universal’s Biggest Comedy Franchises
The Meet the Parents movies are a major comedy series for Universal, having earned over $1.16 billion worldwide. A fourth film was announced in December 2024, and Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Teri Polo, and Blythe Danner were confirmed to reprise their roles in March 2025. The cast continued to grow, and filming began in New York City on August 18, 2025, wrapping up on November 1, 2025.
I’ve noticed a lot of older movies getting sequels that go straight to streaming, like the new Bridget Jones, Happy Gilmore 2, and Beverly Hills Cop. But I was really excited to hear that the next Meet the Parents movie, Focker-in-Law, is actually going to be in theaters! Producer Jane Rosenthal explained it’s because she believes there’s just nothing like a shared laugh with an audience – the kind you only get in a movie theater. She says it’s a totally different experience than watching at home or on a plane.
Focker-in-Law is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 25, 2026.
