Core Keeper 1.0 - Crossplay Explained

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say, the arrival of Core Keeper 1.0 has been a rollercoaster ride, to say the least. The technical hiccups, though expected in any major release, have been quite a challenge, especially when it comes to crossplay.

In this latest update, Core Keeper 1.0 has arrived! Yet, it seems there are a few technical hiccups along the way. Some of these issues can be attributed to crossplay, an aspect that isn’t actually integrated into the game at the moment. It’s quite intriguing, although perhaps not so much for the developers who are likely working diligently to resolve these problems right now.

Core Keeper 1.0 – Crossplay Explained

Crossplay functionality, which allows players across various PC platforms to play together, was initially planned for release alongside version 1.0. However, it appears this feature isn’t functioning properly as intended. According to the FAQ section on the official Discord channel, there seem to be issues with its implementation.

How do I play crossplay with other PC storefronts as a Microsoft Store player?

There will be an update coming to enable crossplay as soon as possible.

The crossplay is not here, but the option to turn it on and off is. We recommend switching it off for now, as it seems that it causes various technical issues. We can inly hope that developers will fix all issues soon enough.

To clarify again, when you refer to crossplay, it’s important to note that it doesn’t involve console games playing with PC games. Instead, think of it as different stores or platforms within the PC gaming world. This has been explicitly mentioned in the FAQ.

Are there any plans to introduce / allow cross-play between console and PC?

There are currently no plans to introduce cross-play between console and PC.

So, as you can see, you should not hope to play with friends on different platforms anytime soon.
