As a lifelong basketball enthusiast who has spent countless hours on the court and even more time following the NBA, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming Netflix series “Starting 5.” Having witnessed the incredible talents of LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, and Domantas Sabonis throughout their careers, it’s an incredible opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at their lives both on and off the court.
Netflix unveiled a brand-new 10-episode sports show titled “Starting 5,” which spotlights NBA stars LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, and Domantas Sabonis.
“The show ‘Starting 5’ provides an intimate perspective on the 2023-24 NBA season, following five key players: James (LA Lakers), Tatum (Boston Celtics), Butler (Miami Heat), Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), and Sabonis (Sacramento Kings). As per the summary, the series offers a glimpse into their struggles and triumphs both on and off the court as they strive for greatness. James is seen pushing his limits to maintain peak performance in his 21st season, while Edwards impresses with his swift ascension. Butler’s determination fuels the Heat, Sabonis stabilizes the Kings with his multifaceted play, and Tatum guides the Celtics toward their pursuit of a historic 18th title. ‘Starting 5’ offers a raw, unedited look at life among the elite in professional basketball.”
As a cinephile, I’m thrilled to announce that my production company, James’ Uninterrupted, has teamed up with the esteemed Higher Ground Productions, owned by Barack and Michelle Obama, as well as Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions, to create an upcoming series. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Higher Ground, being their second sports series with Netflix, following the announcement of an Olympic men’s basketball series (set to premiere in 2025). I can hardly wait to bring this project to life!
