‘Licorice Pizza’ Breakout Cooper Hoffman to Play Olivia Wilde’s Sexual Muse in ‘I Want Your Sex’ (EXCLUSIVE)

As a seasoned cinephile with over three decades of movie-watching under my belt, I must say that the casting of Cooper Hoffman and Olivia Wilde in ‘I Want Your Sex’ has piqued my interest. The film’s provocative premise, combined with the pedigree of its creators, promises a thrilling exploration of desire, power, and the human psyche – elements that have always fascinated me in cinema.

In the upcoming film titled ‘I Want Your Sex,’ directed by Gregg Araki, Cooper Hoffman from “Licorice Pizza” will collaborate with Olivia Wilde.

The movie boasts a unique screenplay written by Araki and Karley Sciortino (“Slutever,” “Now Apocalypse”), delving playfully into themes of desire, control, and imagination. Filming is set to start in Los Angeles this October.

When the young and inexperienced Elliot (Hoffman) obtains an enthralling position under the famous artist, symbol of rebellion Erika Tracy (Wilde), his dreams become reality as Erika selects him to serve as her artistic and romantic inspiration. However, Elliot rapidly discovers that he is in over his head when Erika leads him on a trip far beyond what he ever anticipated, into a realm of sexual encounters, fixation, power struggles, deceit, and homicide.

The movie is set to be produced by Seth Caplan, a previous recipient of the John Cassavetes Award at the Film Independent Spirit Awards, together with Araki, Sciortino, Teddy Schwarzman, and Michael Heimler from Black Bear. John Friedberg, Joanne Roberts Wiles, and Courtney L. Cunniff will act as executive producers for Black Bear, who will not only finance the film but also handle international distribution rights.

As a cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve got some exciting news! CAA Media Finance will be in charge of managing the U.S. rights for our upcoming movie project. Alongside me, Arlie Day and Mike Page are working diligently as associate producers and casting directors, helping shape this picture into a cinematic masterpiece.

Black Bear’s latest offerings include “Sing Sing,” “Immaculate,” and “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.” Their forthcoming lineup includes “Relay” directed by David Mackenzie, featuring Riz Ahmed and Lily James; Daniel Minahan’s “On Swift Horses,” starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Jacob Elordi, and Will Poulter; as well as Max Minghella’s “Shell” with Elizabeth Moss, Kate Hudson, and Kaia Gerber. These films will all make their debut at TIFF. Other titles include Guy Ritchie’s “In the Grey,” starring Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Eiza Gonzalez; Andrew Patterson’s crime thriller “The Rivals of Amziah King” with Matthew McConaughey; David Ayer’s “Levon’s Trade” starring Jason Statham; Clint Bentley’s “Train Dreams” featuring Joel Edgerton and Felicity Jones; and the Christy Martin boxing project from director David Michôd, led by Sydney Sweeney.

Hoffman is represented by CAA.
